Face creams

Ive used Clarins for years but they have discontinued their Alpine Herbs cleanser and incread the price dramatically if tgeir products. I used Liz Earle some years ago so ordered some more. The daily wash off cleanser has been changed and is ineffective and the Superskin moisturiser smells appalling. I wish they wouldnt change what works. Trying Clinique now.

The problem is that range of chemicals used in skin creams probably runs into hundreds. I once tried to compare the contents of two face creams and they only had one chemical in common,

Different people's skins are allergic to different things. Someone up thread was recommending Nivea, the last time I used it, it left my skin very sore. I have also beencaught out finding something that suits my skin - and then they reformulate it, and the new formulation causes an allergic reacrioj

Sorry Sparkling but I used Oil of Olay only once as it brought me out in a rash.

I use Aldi's caviar day and night creams. They have not caused any irritation and are easily absorbed. And they are not tested on animals.

Many years ago I was a qualified beauty therapist plus other therapies. In my opinion it’s not so much what you put on your face it’s about your gene’s and how you treat your skin as in the motion of massaging your face. Gentle massaging a good moisturiser bringing new blood flow to your skin is the best thing you can do. Good genetics always helps but so does a good diet. I believe that skin care is very easy when it’s right for you personally.
Mostly I use water to clean my skin and Darphin intral because I have a rosey face bordering rosacea.

I've been using Nivea from my early teens and I'm now in my 50s, never had any problems with it. A friend bought me Clarins and I got dry patches on my face, so went back to Nivea day and night cream for age 60+. Also use their body lotion, facial scrub and mask too.

Husband really suffering with bad acne like skin due to chemotherapy. The oncologist recommended Aveena which is helping. I use Simple day moisturiser which seems to be fine.

I use Elemis products ,I have sensitive skin and never had problems with this brand .

I know this post is an old one but just in case anyone wants a good none perfumed moisturiser. CETAPHIL not expensive and you can get it in Boots.

My eldest son had dreadful skin, he has always been prone to psoriasis and will break out instantly if he uses the wrong products.

In desperation he paid to see a dermatologist, she recommended a brand called CeraVe.
It was developed by dermatologists
It’s cheap and wonderful!

He uses nothing else and his skin has been clear for months.

I use Neals yard , frankincense....organic and not perfumed....

A friend of mine has always used Clarins face preparations and her skin is beautiful---in her 70's.

I often use Simple moisturiser, which costs about £2.50 in Asda. No perfume AFAIK..

I am using Aveeno baby cream as a face cream. It has no fragrance or colour and is not expensive.

When this happened to me I tried Simple soap and moisturiser for two weeks and used no makeup - it cleared up and I now use Elemis moisturisers etc.

They are expensive but I find a little goes a long way. Their SOS cream is brilliant for flare ups.

I once put body exfoliant on my face in error which made it very red and sore. I went to a local salon who gave me a gentle treatment with demalogica ultra calming product. It did the trick and I now use dermalogica products which are expensive but IMO worth the money

For future face creams I understand Eucerin is good for skin prone to allergic reactions.Worth exploring ? I’m going to buy the body wash for DGD who has eczema.
