If you are smart and comfy I don't see a problem with being bare legged. Enjoy the day.

At a wedding I would choose a skirt that came down below my knees and knee length nylons stockings.

Nanna58 Thu 20-May-21 11:14:53

Depends on the legs catta5 j,lo, Christie Brinkley Jane Fonda - some brilliant older legs out there. Conversely have seen some not so good being displayed by younger people .

Wouldn't go out to the shops in a skirt without tights. My legs are white, not very attractive. I'd never go to a wedding or anything important without tights or stockings, it would look awful.

It's not taboo. I never looked at legs at the last wedding I went to so wouldn't know how many bare. Mine were bare and I wore a just below knee dress and sandals (violet nail polish on toes).

It was a warm day in July. I was the bride ?

Older people should never be bare legged not a good sight

BigBertha1 Thu 20-May-21 11:07:24

You could have a spray tan.

I can’t get tights on so it’s either leggings or bare legs for me if I’m wearing a dress. Otherwise I wear trousers.

Dalfie5577 Thu 20-May-21 10:56:11

I had the same problem until I bought some tights from Evans. They are brilliant! No more crutch down by my knees and I can even pull the body part up under my boobs which helps make everything feel held in. Try wearing them round the house for a day to see if you are comfortable.

b1zzle Thu 20-May-21 10:54:49

Spray tan the legs instead?

Alioop Thu 20-May-21 10:54:42

I hate my legs and despise tights even more, so the last wedding I went to I wore a dressy navy jumpsuit and added a big flouncy flower on the lapel. I felt really comfortable in it all day, my horrible white legs were well hidden. smile

henetha Thu 20-May-21 10:54:27

If you are wearing a longish dress then pop socks would do.
I hate tights.

Lyndie Thu 20-May-21 10:52:22

A maxi dress with shorts, underneath to stop chub rub. You can buy the shorts in M and S, they are light and stretchy. ?

I would do what you are comfortable with, go with bare legs, as long as, like BlueBelle mentioned, they're not very white and hairy. grin

lindiann Sat 15-May-21 14:09:42

Thanks I might go for trousers my Step Daughter says she has never seen me in a dress or skirt. Mid height heels or I will end up in A and E, the dress is just below knee length and legs are white and hairy they have not been seen for years smile

Daisend1 Sat 15-May-21 14:04:34

Surely eyes will be on the bride not you ?

hulahoop Sat 15-May-21 14:02:09

If you don't have a problem with chaffing at top of legs do what you are comfortable with .

Chardy Sat 15-May-21 14:01:32

Last summer wedding I went to I had a below the knee dress and bare legs.
I did make sure they weren't glaringly white legs though.

Redhead56 Sat 15-May-21 13:59:09

Light flesh coloured tights for me my legs are full of veins and unsightly unless I wear a long dress.

BlueBelle Sat 15-May-21 13:54:14

Is it a summer wedding ? and is your dress calf length or short?
Are you wearing flats of high heels?
I don’t see where it would even be noticed unless you ve got a lot of white hairy legs showing ?
I don’t think I ve worn stockings or tights for about 40 years mind you it’s about the same length of time since I ve worn a dress or skirt So I m nothing to go by

lindiann Sat 15-May-21 13:49:59

smile lol that's me

midgey Sat 15-May-21 13:49:13

It’s not something I would do and I tend to look like Norah Batty on a good day!

lindiann Sat 15-May-21 13:44:22

Hi is it taboo to go bare legged at a wedding (guest) or should it be tights/stockings? I am short plump (fat) and they tend to sag after a while?
