I've been wearing these boots since I was 15 ,I love over the knee boots and have a few pairs .My friends daughter used to call them my "hooker boots" I attributed her remark to a small mind from a small town ...she never repeated it ...at least not to my face .Riverwalk I wear them with leggings and long tops or skinny jeans
DD2 wears them all the time and struggles to find high heeled, reasonably priced ones that don’t scream ‘hooker’ (as in Pretty Woman!) DD2 is a wheelchair user and her lower legs are very thin and ordinary boots fall down round her ankles, but over the knee boots hide her legs, keep her feet at the best angle and if necessary are easily adjusted.
I don’t know either - I have a flat pair that keep my dodgy knees nice and warm ( and less painful). I think the problem might be high healed over the knee boots worn with a very short skirt, and no tights.
Why do these have sexual connotations in the UK? I'm not talking PVC, wet-look, stiletto boots. Just ordinary leather boots. I have a gorgeous pair. They do have a heel, but chunky but are such soft leather.
But every time I wear them I get an 'Oooer missus' vibe from others. Makes no sense. Knee high? Functional. Over the knee? Suggestive.
