Spots at 70

The week before my 70th in January I had an outbreak of spots on the left hand side of my face. Apart from a very odd one, I haven't had them like this since I was a teenager. I wear very little make-up and am scrupulous about moisurising and cleansing. I can't think of any one possible cause but have been trying out some different creams since my usual L'Oreal one was discontinued. On holiday last week, my forehead on one side was covered in tiny red spots including some in my eyebrows. It seems too trivial to bother the GP with even if you could see them. I've started using Liz Earle's cleanser after years of wipes and lately Micellar water products. Maybe products have been too harsh as I've got older. Any thoughts?

Why not try a week without products, give your skin a chance to recover then reintroduce them one at a time?

Wipes really aren't enough to cleanse your face properly every day, especially if you wear make up, they should be for emergency use only, and if you've been trying out different creams that could be the culprit. Try something gentle and unperfumed but effective, for instance the Simple range may suit you but I'm sure lots of suggestions would come up with Google. You say you wear very little make up, but if you use any make up on your face remember it has a 'use by' date once opened and products such as powder which aren't enclosed as things in tubes are are a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. If you use a powder puff or brush on your skin it needs to be thoroughly washed regularly.
