Expensive hair dryers are they worth it ?

I find that my short grey hair dries so quickly that I no longer need a hair dryer. I do have an old one, just in case I need it sometime.
Some of these modern ones seem ludicrously expensive.

I've never had an expensive hair dryer, I imagine they are quite heavy like the ones they have in salons, I can't see what they'd do that a bog standard one wouldn't, just more powerful. I've a jaw length bob I use a heated brush to better effect than the dryer once I've rough dried first.

Mine was about £20 from Amazon - nice and lightweight but it doesn't mean that I can blow dry my hair the same as a hardresser can do - you'd need to take your head off and stick it on a pole to get an all round my head, including the back that I can never do!
I think, for that reason , that I'm wondering if it is worth spending that much money !

Iwouldn't give Dyson my money for any of his overpricec ..chinese made products .I too have a Babyliss and long hair and it works very well ,think I paid under £30 for it years ago

No, I can’t hold a heavy hair dryer so I use a lightweight Babyliss travel dryer and it’s powerful enough. Sorry, not much help!

My old hair dryer is on its last legs and I am researching a new one. Some of them cost £300+ ?. Have you got a swish hairdryer? Help please.
