I think the clumpy, high heeled Mini Mouse sandals work wonderful well with this.

I don’t think I’ve ever bought a dress for myself from M&S. Everything looks a bit last season. I’ve occasionally bought leggings and cotton cardigans I buy bras from Miss Mary of Sweden and knickers from John Lewis. M&S food is good though..

Even when I was slim I looked like Don Estelle in shorts.

Lovely Foghorn I must have a look.

Doodledog Wed 27-Jul-22 23:27:40

That’s a lovely colour, FHLH.

I’ve just bought this one from White Stuff and it’s lovely. Looks even better on and I’ve had so many compliments when wearing it. It’s incredibly cool and comfortable too.

The Roman dresses look nice, but I generally don't like all the new ultra feminine dresses.
I bought one from White Stuff, doesn't need ironing and has pockets.
They have lots of nice dresses,

Lucca

OTOH. I have to say how few people suit shorts!, do they ever check out the back view to see how their bum has eaten the shorts?!

Thanks*Lucca*. 'bum eaten the shorts' Really made me chuckle at the image.

Ailidh

It looks like something from the Great British Sewing Bee makeover round. Not the winning item.....

That's what I was thinking. Some of them look as though the dressmaker has forgotten to remove the tacked on paper pattern.

Best shopping trip for months today to McArthur Glen outlets at Swindon. M & S denim jacket and jumper for winter - a lot of clothes that I would buy compared to my recent visit to the High Street branch. Shoes and matching evening bag from Dune. Shoes, Clarks. Shorts and t-shirt dress, Joules. Assorted home accessories.

Lucca, I have been trying to think of a tactful way of saying just that to my best friend. At the first sign of the sun, out come the shorts - baggy, fitting, short or long - they really don't suit her - and the back views is errrr .... well, not good,

Just by the way I was having a stroll through our town centre parkland and I saw so many women in really lovely summer dresses
The surgery receptionist had a gorgeous pink floral number with a sort of shirred (is that the right word) top and her nails were pink. I like it when people make an effort !

I’ve just looked at the dress from the link you gave us toscalily. Apparently it is very popular as 6 others have just looked at it! I think that is probably down to the thread.

I didn’t like the dippy hem either, the rest is nice.

I think M and S have some extremely dowdy dresses at the moment. The patterns are especially bad. I haven’t bought a dress from there for ages, I got a nice one from Zara though.

Callistemon21 Sat 16-Jul-22 22:11:30

In fact the comment is vile

I saw that dress in the catalogue, Hetty but wasn't sure about the dippy hem.

Nasty Robin49.

Plain - but really can't describe how comfortable, loose, pure linen, £25.50, Lands End, bargain! (In a heatwave, it's just got to be function over form for me).

Vile

That looks a lovely cool, summery dress Jaxjacky, but the one that the OP posted looks like they ran out of fabric and finished it off with scraps off the cutting room floor.

I saw a lady wearing a lovely, eye catching dress in M&S yesterday. When I complimented her on it she said she had bought it on line for £6 from one of those ads that you always suspect is a scam!

I did buy a pair of reasonably priced trousers, but most of the garments I looked at seemed very expensive for M&S and made of very nasty cheap fabric.

Jaxjacky Sat 16-Jul-22 21:21:54

I bought this a few weeks ago from M&S, very happy. I’m 5’ 11 size 16.

hollysteers Sat 16-Jul-22 20:16:18

There are a lot of ‘maternity’ dresses around at the mo ?

hollysteers Sat 16-Jul-22 20:15:28

Marsha many of us are not keen on bare arms..
£69? not exactly cheap at M &S

Landsend - I have just found them
They're very helpful

I ordered some tops months ago, one was out of stock but this week I got an email to say my Landsend parcel was arriving confused. It arrived and was a top I'd ordered way back in April and it was still at the original sale price, no postage charged.
