Can anyone recommend a gentle everyday perfume that is long lasting but isn't overpowering? I like flowery scents.

I Like Happy by Clinique, used for years but love it. It is fresh and not heavy, people often comment on how lovely it smells on me.

I like Floral Street fragrances, www.floral street.com. They sell a discovery set which is 8 small vials of perfume to try for £16. They are all flowery perfumes and my favourite is Chypre. When you find your favourite you can then purchase a large version or they do gift vouchers useful for birthdays etc.

Light Blue by Dolce and Gabberna. Ben complimented numerous times suitable for day and evening, not overpowering at all

You need to try the perfumes yourself. What smells nice on one person might not smell nice on someone else. A friend's lovely perfume was horrible on me.
I bought Givency Into the Blue, in duty free. Next time I went back and tried to buy some I was told it was only made for a short time for duty free. I have not found anything I liked since.

Grandmahigham - Lancome no longer make O. It was a favourite of mine for years. I like the Green and White Tea frangrances from Elizabeth Arden, to me they are similar; fresh, green scents.

Jo Malone has beautiful floral fragrances, they are not the cheapest but they last well, my current favourites Orange Blossom along with Lime, Basil and Mandarin.

Also Jo Loves.

Aldi does a very good copy of Lime Basil & Mandarin in body wash, lotion and spray.

Eden by Chacheral (excuse spelling!) It’s a reasonable price - about £35 for 50ml. I love the flowery smell and it lasts well, giving you that lovely ‘waft’. I stopped wearing it when someone told me it reminded them of their grandma ?? but then I thought ‘what the hell, I am a grandma!’ I would love it if my grandchildren remember my smell.

I love CK One by Calvin Klein. Nice and light and not over powering.

Elizabeth Arden either Green tea or White tea. Lovely gentle yet fresh and very affordable too.!

Currently Jo Malone Green Orange and Coriander is my favourite, but I love L’air du Temps. I wore it when DH and I were courting. Samsara by Guerlain was another ‘go to’ for me.
Greciangirl I love Davidoff Cool Water, but Cool Water Woman is absolutely awful. Because I liked his after shave so much DH bought me CWW and I couldn’t stand it.

Years ago I used to wear Givenchy's Ysatis. Recently DD2 told me that as a child she used to hate "the smell" of it. She said that if I was wearing it when we were going out in the car it used to make her feel car sick. Nice to know all these years on! I never wear perfume these days and don't even know if Ysatis still exists.

I like Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria range - they do various ones, but my favourite is the Mandarine Basilic. They're lovely light fragrances which are perfect for wearing at any time.

Flowers by Kenzo is my absolute favourite

Greciangirl Fri 02-Sept-22 14:59:50

Davidoff Cool Water.

L'aire du Temps from Nina Ricci is light, floral and fresh. A spray each morning lingers through the day. Always have a bottle.

Esmay - try Amazon for L’aimont. Search under Coty or L’aimont. I saw it about a year ago and I believe it is still being made. I used to wear Emeraud when I was younger.
Cheers!

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely is very nice and inexpensive.

icanhandthemback Fri 02-Sept-22 14:30:06

Surprisingly, I get a lot of compliments on my perfume when I wear it. It is a spritz of strawberry and a spritz of vanilla; both bottles come from Superdrug and I just use a spray of each!

Gundy Fri 02-Sept-22 14:28:27

annsixty - you are correct about fragrances not lasting as long as you age. Here’s what might work for you - if your favorite scent has a companion lotion or cream, rub some lotion onto your areas of skin, then spritz on after the cream/had dried. The oil in the product will make your fragrance last longer.

Northernlass Fri 02-Sept-22 14:24:05

Clarins Eau Dynamisante is fab - a really uplifting fragrance and lasts a good while if layered with the body lotion

Alverstone25 Fri 02-Sept-22 14:23:23

I absolutely love perfume and have tried most of the ones already suggested, if you are specifically looking for an everyday inexpensive one to wear daily I can’t recommend LOVELY by Jessica Parker, about £30 maximum.., endless comments of admiration i get when wearing this daily, it lasts for many hours to.
