Can anyone recommend a gentle everyday perfume that is long lasting but isn't overpowering? I like flowery scents.

Yesterday I bought my all time fave Clarins Eau Dynamisante which was special offer with matching body lotion and shower gel in a nice bag. I just love the freshness of it.

Jo Malone. Wood Sage and Sea Salt .

It's back!
Sorry I haven't time to re read the thread, but somewhere we discussed the disappearance of Cristalle by Chanel. I've just found it has come back here in France if any of you want to check it out back home.

A favourite is 'Amour Amour'
by Cacharel. Not too expensive and is floral and romantic.

I love perfume but many are too expensive. But I discovered that M&S do some nice ones at reasonable prices.
My favourite is Florentyna.

Alioop Thu 01-Dec-22 16:20:33

Yodeyma make brilliant dupes of them by the way and so much cheaper.
Light Blue is called Kara
Chloe is Seduccion

Alioop Thu 01-Dec-22 16:17:37

My favs are Chloe and D&G Light Blue. They aren't heavy scents, Chloe is flowery and Light Blue is fresh and clean.

AskAlice, I'm intrigued when you say people don't buy Body Shop any more, tell me more!

Eden by Cacherel
Lovely fragrance, not overpowering but lasting,
Not expensive full price and often on offer, which is a bonus.

I have had lots of compliments whilst wearing Lancôme La Vie est belle

Diggingdoris Sat 03-Sept-22 16:40:05

L'air du temps by Nina Ricci is lovely and floral and not overpowering. People always comment when I wear it as it's very feminine.

Bluedaisy Sat 03-Sept-22 11:13:56

Have you tried Jo Malone? Doesn’t last as long as I’d like but I love it and you can use 2/3 to layer them

Lewie Sat 03-Sept-22 10:12:30

Another vote for L’Air du Temps. I wear it every day.

Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, very light fragrance.

I used Anais Anais for years but my current favourite is idole by Lancôme

I also recommend 24 Faubourg by Hermès.
It's floral, fairly strong, long lasting, and almost every time I wear it I get asked what my perfume is!
I had heard rumours that Hermès were considering withdrawing 24 Faubourg from their range, so when Debenhams were closing down, I bought three 100ml bottles of the Eau de Parfum. It was a big (ish) outlay, but it was reduced by 50%, so too good to be missed.
All three bottles are tucked away, still in their unopened, cellophane wrapped boxes, in a small case in the back of a wardrobe, they'll be good for years stored as they are.
I've just had a look on line, and it's not appearing on John Lewis, Selfridge's or Harrods websites, so maybe the rumours were in fact the truth, and it's been withdrawn, I hope not as I've been wearing it for years!
If you're feeling flush, Fleurissimo Eau de Parfum by Creed is glorious! It's let down by the cheap looking green lid, but as it's stored in the box, in darkness, the look of the bottle doesn't bother me much!
I probably spend far too much on 'smellies' but wearing beautiful fragrance makes me feel good, so it's worth it!

Jo Malone has beautiful floral fragrances, they are not the cheapest but they last well, my current favourites Orange Blossom along with Lime, Basil and Mandarin.

Also Jo Loves.

My favourite too .

I enjoy reading about others' favourites, and imagining the smell.
Lovely is lovely, I agree.

I have just one favourite and have worn it for ages…24 Faubourg by Hermes. You only need the tiniest bit and I’ve never met anyone else who wears it so it’s become my ‘signature’ scent over the years. Not cheap at all but I keep my eye on eBay and grab a bargain when I find one. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea and so people may try it then sell it if it’s not to their liking. Sometimes there are new bottles for sale at a great price as well. I feel really undressed if I don’t make it the finishing touch to my daily ‘toilette’. Lovely reading everyone’s posts and remembering the names and the times in my life when I wore some of those perfumes mentioned. A real trip down Memory Lane. Anyone remember Fiji…in the late 60s? Was it by Lancôme…not sure now ? but I loved it and it made me feel so grown up (I was 16) Bright yellow opaque bottle and the very first thing I bought with my very first pay packet of £3.4.0d ?
