I hope this is in the right category, can anyone recommend warm loose topped socks? I am always in my wellies and need to find warm, thick ankle socks. My legs are too fat smile for long socks but I don't want really short ankle socks ones that come up the calf a bit would be great if that makes sense. Would rather they had a heel in them than the ones that or just like a tube, I am a size 5.

Damart do thick soft top socks that come further up your legs than your ankle. My left leg is very swollen and they fit me well.

Hi Su22
I have the same problem so buy mens socks - their smallest size 6-9 - as the sizes are more generous than the womens ‘one size fits all’. I vary between a size 4.5-5 and there’s plenty of choice in lots of bright colours.

I buy socks for diabetics on Amazon and I am not left with a horrid red mark cutting into my skin. Some are skimpy but not all and the photos show you how far up the leg they go.

I have lymphodema so these socks are great for me.

I buy these bamboo socks, some plain black and some with coloured heel and toe. They are wide and virtually seam free, therefore suitable for diabetics.

I have those as well and they are so comfortable, wash well and appear to last for ages.

Have a look online for fleece inserts for wellies, very cosy and no need to wear long socks.

Have you tried Cosyfeet? They do shoes, slippers and socks for wider feet and legs.
