Coatigans

I am a sucker for coatigans. I bought an emerald green one last week on holiday, which I didn't need!!

I used to find them ideal to wear at night on holiday in Italy, in the cooler months and made a great cover up for the plane.

I like shackets, I made two in a good quality thicker flannel and they are very useful garments. I made a coatigan at one time and got rid of it yesterday, too big to be easily comfortable and not warm enough for winter. Shackets are very comfortable and good for layering

Yeah, agree shackets are useful, coatigans no use at all, not warm enough or too warm and coatlike.

Oh! And I’ve just bought a cream one from Marks for the summer - so not sure if the material but it is very soft and will be pleasant to wear.

I have a cashmere one - pricey at the time, but oh so warm and will last for years.

I have large breasts and any tailored jacket with lapels makes me look very matronly so I tend to wear longer open cardigans which takes the eye away from them and is a flattering look. I often find a better selection on somewhere like Ebay than in shops. So many of the things in shops now are all acrylic/ polyester and will bobble within weeks.
Grizas do lovely silk and linen mix , more well cut and somewhat floaty things. It is a casual smart look. It depends on what look you like. Good luck!

I have 3 long coatigans, 2 dark colours for those winter days when I need something not too heavy, needless to say they are rarely worn, but I can wear them on a dull Spring day and a nice dusky pink one for Spring, so any time now.
Too long to wear indoors though, definitely ‘going out’ coatigans.
I’ve had them for years, from Next. TBH bit of a waste as I’m always too cold in the Autumn/Winter to wear them and because they are in the top of the wardrobe I forget about them. I’ll get them out today, thanks for the reminder.

jdwilliams have a selection but there are knitted, cardigan ones - and some lined jacket types. Also, long or short?

I love a big, long cardigan to wear at home but prefer something lined and shorter when I'm out, as they're easier to move around in. Collarless is more casual I think.

My favourite togs are a long sleeved, stretchy thermal, a loose shirt - and a gilet. I have a selection, long, short, fitted and loose (must try not to buy any more).

I have a light woollen coat in cheerful colours.

I bought this overshirt from Zara and wear it open with the cuffs rolled back - because of the shape and pockets it looks more of a jacket than a shirt.
