Sun factor 50?

We use factor 50 when we go to the beach but not every day ( probably should,here in Australia I suppose ) There is one put out by the cancer council here. Aldi makeup has some sun protection inbuilt and I use that every day. Not good enough for really hot sunny days,though. My husband rarely wore it and ended up with a melanoma and had to have a huge slice of his face taken out so now he is very,very careful and always wears hats in the sun. He was lucky to have a fantastic surgeon who was able to match a skin graft from his chest so now it is hardly noticeable. Life and death stuff, though. You can’t muck around.

MaryemBop I take Vitamin D too. I believe older ladies need it. I take it every day in winter and every other day in summer. The one I take has Vitamin K in it too as Vitamin D needs Vitamin K to work properly.
I’ve got some sun damage on my face too, not from any disease or syndrome, but because I didn’t use sun screen daily when I was younger. I used it on holiday but not all the time, and now I have some darker patches that I cover with concealer.

I use a product called P20. I love it.

It is sprayed on but I tend to spay it ito my hand then apply to my face or unscrew the pump and pour a wee bit ito my hand and rub it on my face, arms, legs. It lasts all day (research it on line) but I tend to apply an extra layer during the day. You can also use it when swimming.

I have never got sunburn with it.

Maddyone, I take high dose vitD and the sunscreen is for my face only, as I have Addisons Disease and get dark pigmentation on my face

I use Boots Children’s Soltan Factor 50 sun cream. I have very sensitive skin which is prone to excezma and I was told that this is kinder to skin than the regular Soltan.

It’s helpful to take a Vitamin D tablet to ensure getting the right amount. Sun lotions prevent the Vitamin D from forming and our dull weather with little sun in the winter is responsible for low levels of Vitamin D in the UK.

Bioderma factor 50 for face. Expensive but it blends in better than most. Asda - as recommended by Which? Everywhere else.

I try to use Australian sun lotions as they are fully tested and reliable!
Too much factor 50 can prevent vitamin D being absorbed so factor that in as well !!

Can’t help as never use them.

I use Bondi Sands SPF50 for the face

I saw the Bondi Sands one very highly rated recently. Apparently the requirements for Australian sun screens are much higher than in the US and a bit higher than in Europe, although I can't remember all the details now.

I prefer lotion too grandtante.

Ambra Solaire factor 50 is my choice, preferably as lotion not as a spray.

I have had many sun damage related problems with my skin, including carcinoma removal. I use Bondi Sands SPF50 for the face. Works well as a moisturiser too.

Best I've ever used: it's not cheap but it lasts well. It's thick and not sticky

I'm on holiday abroad now. It's really good and one tube of 200 ml has lasted me 10 days.

I bought three out as I'm here for 3 weeks. I can't see me using the 3rd tube

Boots Soltan factor 30 and 50 for me.

I used Boots Soltan Childrens factor 50 on face and body with no problems. It's non greasy and easily rubbed in. It was currently on offer at Boots for 3.49 for a bottle so very reasonably priced. Made in UK. With 5 star UVA a and UVA b ray protection . Theres even space to write you name in market pen on the back of the bottle 😊

For my face I use Sainsburys Factor 50 face cream or Superdrug F50 face cream. Ambre Solaire F20 or 30 for arms and legs; use it instead of body lotion every day.

My partner is quite fair skinned and has had a couple of BCCs on his forehead. He was advised to use Atruist Factor 50, which he does religiously.

I use Ambre Solaire factor 30 on my body, and a factor 50 specifically for faces on my face. I’ve got Cetaphil Daily Defence factor 50 for my holiday although I have used CeraVe, Roc, and others, always factor 50. At home I use Elemis factor 30 on my face in the summer and Olay factor 15 in the winter. I don’t usually use sun cream daily on my body at home, just if I’m out in the sun all day and obviously on holiday, although I never lie in the sun.
I always use ultrasun factor 30 on the grandchildren. I might try the ultrasun facial factor 50 myself.

Boots Soltan. It's tested & recommended by Which, so it's a clear winner IMO. Reasonably priced & I like to use their Soltan kids' suncream. I wear a sunhat (as advised by optician) thus avoiding the dilemma of putting suncream on my forehead! (Unless swimming.)

I use Nivea factor fifty.

I was in our local hospital yesterday visiting a very sick friend.
I went to get her a coffee and met the dermatologist who chopped my nose off a few weeks ago on the stairs.
Seizing the opportunity to show her that the graft is going brown she recommended Altruist, available in Sainsbury’s at £5.50 a tube. That’s what she uses. I’m not sure why that may work better than the one I use at the moment but I now have two tubes and hope it will help.

For face, been using Sarah Chapman Skinesis 30 - tinted. Pricey but one tube last ages. Arms and legs I try to cover as I hate being sticky.
