Help please.
A, B, or C ? No special occasion, just for outings.

DanniRae Mon 03-Jul-23 12:13:40

I am not keen on any of them to be honest but A if I had to say. I certainly wouldn't pay that price! shock

I went out yesterday afternoon in a dress which I was very pleased with and had a few compliments .... I can't remember the price but it came from TU at Sainsburys smile

annodomini Mon 03-Jul-23 10:31:58

I'd choose C, if I was 6 inches taller and 6 inches slimmer round the middle!

ShazzaKanazza Mon 03-Jul-23 09:12:02

For me it would be C but that’s only because I don’t suit dresses tied at the front. Very patterned and floral dresses are big this year.

Esmay Sun 02-Jul-23 23:20:01

I like B .
I think that a small print is safe .
C would emphasise my lumpy body.

Grandyma Sun 02-Jul-23 23:13:48

I was going to say A if I had to choose but that was before I knew how much it was!! Wouldn’t pay that for a dress unless it was for a special occasion.

maddyone Fri 30-Jun-23 20:45:50

On reflection, I like the style of C best, and I might wear it, but not keen on the print. It’d need to be plain for me.

notgoneyet Fri 30-Jun-23 20:24:44

I think whoever mentioned the price in an open forum when the OP didn't mention it was quite out of order!

maddyone Fri 30-Jun-23 19:55:13

They’re not my cup of tea. I’m not keen on the dresses of today and I just stick to what I’ve got in my wardrobe already. I’m not keen on many of the prints that are around or the tied up in the middle with a tie belt look. Phase eight have got a couple of dresses I like, but even their’s aren’t great this year. I would say go with the one that is nearest to your usual style. I think you’re quite slim so you can carry anything off well. Good luck.

pascal30 Fri 30-Jun-23 19:31:37

C if you're slim..

Casdon

I picture Joseann as about 5’6”, blond, slim and quite glam. Despite all the negative comments I think she’ll look good in A with flat sandals and a tan leather belt.

Well, now you’re putting Joseanne in a difficult place if she is the direct opposite of those things 😂
Think I would just graciously accept the compliment and say yes, very tanned as well.
Enjoy your new dress Joseanne I thought it looked French even before you said that.

You win the prize Casdon, though the "slim" description has taken a knock after the last few weeks on holiday abroad.

Thanks for the 4 pages of advice ladies. All good fun whatever our individual tates.

Mince, alors! You've just taken me on a virtual trip round the fashion houses of Paris ronib. (I feel a GN Paris shopping trip coming on!)

Phew, I've just checked out the provenance of the dress I've ordered. All Darel clothes are hand sewn in a small atelier on Rue de Réaumur in the very heart of Paris.
Hope GSM is happy! grin I collect the dress in town tomorrow.
I even took a photo of the labels of my older tops here to prove it!

ronib Fri 30-Jun-23 17:52:20

Rue Daguerre in Paris 14th used to have the best little boutique shops with very good quality women’s clothing. I think John Lewis is not at all exciting these days.
Peruvian Connection I like too.
I hope you are happy with your choice.

Liz62 Fri 30-Jun-23 17:48:42

B for me .

granfromafar Fri 30-Jun-23 17:26:55

I think C looks best out of the 3 on the model. Depends if you are tall and slim like the model!

Tink75 Fri 30-Jun-23 17:17:09

C is fine.

GrammaH Fri 30-Jun-23 17:01:27

I don't like any of them but then I'm looking at them just as dresses - I'm sure Joseann is comfortable with her style and look fab in all 3. I don't actually think the stance of the models does them any favours, A looks like a sack of straw tied up in the middle! I'd love to see Joseann modelling the dress. I notice Boden have a sale & the prices are excellent for good quality. I think A is very expensive considering it's in a sale & what it looks like but I would pay that for a Bombshell "Grace" dress in the sale!!

FannyCornforth Fri 30-Jun-23 16:49:04

I’m pretty certain that you are right Casdon
I think that she will currently have a tan too

It really depends on your height and build; I am only 5 feet tall and would like a bag of spuds in all those dresses.

JPB123 Fri 30-Jun-23 15:58:36

It depends on your height, weight, colouring. Better to try something on than hazard a guess.I do like them all !

pinkjj27 Fri 30-Jun-23 15:41:34

I don’t realy like any of them,
on A I don’t like the style or the draw string and it’s a funny length I perfer a midi or the new maxmidi lenghth
B is better but don’t like the tie at the neck
C is a bit loud and yet garish at the same time and again dont like the style.
I really dislike long sleeves in the Summer, so I wouldn’t go for any of them but B is the best .
I am tall and slim with slim arms but someone shorter or bigger might suit these styles better. It really is down to your own personal style.

I’m with Norah, much prefer something more fitted or tailored. Probably all those years of wearing suits - I’ve become sartorially institutionalised - but shapeless does nothing for me.
Were you having a bad day Fanny? 😁

I've never been "suited" by a profession, but I certainly want waist lines nipped in and belted. Otherwise I look straight - I'm not, I have a nice waist which I diet and exercise to maintain.
