My granddaughter who is 9 still hates a hair wash because of her her tangling but we solved this by using MORROCAN OIL Light, it expensive but you only need a very small amount and it lasts forever. It’s saves all the tangles and tears. Hope this helps.

I have a detangling brush. Cheap but very effective.

Our DGD has long hair and has always used a special detangling brush.
As Glorianny says, starting brushing from the bottom helps - I have to do that because my longish hair is always tangled after washing.

How do you brush? I have fine hair which tangles easily. I use a chopping brushing technique which starts at the bottom of the tangle, not at the top of the head. You can hold a section of hair so you don't pull on her head, and proceed up the tangle until you reach the top. I thought everyone did this because my mum taught me it, but I've found people with stronger hair don't do it.
You can buy children's detangling lotion and a detangling brush

My granddaughter is 10 and has long hair. It is washed twice a week and I use lots of conditioner, but brushing and combing it is a nightmare. You only have to look at it and it tangles.

I have lots of bottles of various conditioners, even leave-in products, but nothing seems to help at all.

I think what might help is some sort of oil, but what? I don't want her to be left with greasy hair.

I absolutely dread the twice-weekly hair washing because I know we're then going to have a session where I'm exasperated and she's unhappy with the hair-pulling which is unavoidable.

Anybody got any ideas to help?
