Talking of Seasalt - there are a lot of ads on Facebook at the moment touting Seasalt reductions of 80% off- but they are not by genuinely by Seasalt. They are by a copycat site which uses photos of the outside of Seasalt shops, pictures of genuine Seasalt goods and references to Seasalt Cornwall. However they are scams, just after your details, probably from the same stable as the scam "M&S 90%-off sales" that nearly caught me a few months ago. Make sure that anything you order really IS from Seasalt. malwaretips.com/blogs/seasaltcornwallsale-shop is a warning about them. Seasalt themselves also have a warning on their website.
I think I will copy this to a relevant scam thread.
Too easy to get caught out so thank you all those who have warned against these fake sales. I nearly fell for a recent Cath Kidston one but hesitated - fortunately!
Facebook was swamped with scam posts purporting to be from Seasalt yesterday and today. One was offering 6 items for just £42. Lots of people fell for it and paid up but will not receive a thing. The ads did look very convincing. I posted on my page about it and several friends have replied that they were just about to order stuff!
Always be very suspicious of ads from any firm with “sponsored by” under their title. Another thing to watch out for are these 🔥🔥🔥🔥 anywhere in the description.
Someone said that if something seems too good to be true, then it is! I saw those Facebook ads offering 6 items for £42! I went to the genuine website and the only sale items are 20% off dresses as mentioned above.
It’s still on Facebook! I left a message saying that it was a scam.
Good luck with that. Some years ago I was part of a group that posted regularly warning people about the rogue Chinese clothing sites. ( they’re not as bad as they were)
We researched masses of info and shared it. Many of us were banned from FB.
What about those lap tops being offered on Facebook., supposed to be excess stock from either Amazon or one of the other super stores. For an unbelievable price you can buy an iPhone 14 or 15 just send your email etc etc etc etc. can’t believe these scams are still on show.
