House clothes

No I don't change when I get home but MrA does. Apparently he only feels really comfy when he's wearing really old, badly fitting clothes 😁

This is a completely new concept to me. I wear the same clothes from dawn to dusk.

When I worked I needed to look smart so had a wardrobe of what I described as 'my school uniform', and did change out of that in the evenings, but the clothes I changed into were my normal everyday clothes.

I have never bought other than comfortable clothes, comfortable and smart or stylish are not a contradiction in terms. So once dressed in the morning, that's that for the day.

The only exception is changing into gym clothes for Tai Chi and when I am ill, rather than slob around in my dressing gown and slippers all day, I have wonderfully cosy fleecy topped track suit, but that is very much for sick days only.

It’s easy to see I live alone, I admit to being a total scruff in the house. Ancient t-shirts, no bra and comfy joggers. If I have to open the door, I throw on a big baggy cardi or sweater, makes me look a bit more decent. When it’s colder, I wear a fleecy hoodie or even an Oodie if it’s really cold.
I would never go out like this though, I do have some standards 😁

Yes, I wear some “around the house” clothes. I change when I go out, but the clothes I wear around the house are suitable for cleaning in, cooking in, gardening in, slobbing about in. I do wear a denim apron over my clothes when gardening. If I’ve been out in the evening, I put my nightdress and dressing gown on as soon as I get home and taking bra off is often a great relief as it feels uncomfortable when I’ve worn it all day!

I always thought the velour loungewear stuff was to wear at home in the evening (not that I have any, not my thing).

Yes I have always worn "around the house " clothes. I always got changed as soon as I was home when I worked and now I change to go out. Rarely if I am popping to the local shop I may just put my coat on and go. But if the weather is nice I usually change. My around the house clothes are sometimes tops that I have had a while but are no longer tidy enough to go out . But I always wear comfy pull on style trousers or leggings around the house.

I didn’t until last winter. But I heard Angela Rippon say she has a number of velour loungewear outfits that she wears at home. I thought what a good idea so I bought 3 outfits which I wear if staying at home. They are really nice warm and comfortable.
Although one day my 3 year old granddaughter said Nanny why do you still have pyjamas on in the afternoon (I don’t think they look like pyjamas).

I put on dog walking clothes first thing. If I'm going somewhere to meet people, I'll change. If I'm only going to the shops, I stay in them.

I generally live in joggers and fleeces in winter/spring/autumn but usually change if I'm going out. I'll change back into comfies when I get back home though.

I have too often succumbed to this but find my mood echoes my choice of clothes- if I have taken some trouble with what I choose to wear, I do actually feel “smarter” and more “proactive”
Mum was never very good at “casual” so perhaps I have absorbed that from her.
That said, my idea of smart these days is clean jeans and a shirt or T shirt which is not on its last legs!

If I don't have anything planned outside of the house I hang out in my dressing gown ..often until lunchtime. I do all my chores, cooking etc and then have a shower and put on quite smart but comfortable clothes.
I don't think the postie has seen me in anything but a dressing gown! They get washed frequently. I own 3 winter ones and one summer one.

Not for me, I get dressed in the morning and undressed at night, apart from adding/removing layers if the weather changes. The rare exception is if I’m going out somewhere special, but most trips out are for lunch with friends, to visit family, local, not posh, restaurants or the pub.
Jeans/shorts, t shirt, sweat shirt or jumper.

I wear yoga pants and leggings in the house and garden but always change into jeans to go out. Some tops are for home or garden only. I make sure I look presentable whether just at home or going out.

I was just thinking about this as I changed after cutting the grass and showering, how I am glad I don’t need to change often as I struggle to put on socks and either pull a top over my head or do buttons up. I need some soft stretchy tops with zips (even those I struggle with).

Yes, house clothes, which are old enough to garden in and not worry about.
Change to go out.
I don't consider my 'house's clothes (which often have holes in) acceptable for the world.
I just can't throw away comfortable clothes until they really are useless. 😊

I get dressed up to go out, even when shopping, and change into my comfies when I get home but the first thing I do is take off my underwired bra and put on my comfy stretch one.

Not unless I am gardening, decorating or doing really messy household chores.

I’m ALWAYS scruffily dressed now, unless going out. Really comfy stretchy bottoms and baggy tops. Always clean, not always ironed, I also shower at least once a day so I’m not at all grubby. If people come to visit unexpectedly they’ve come to see me, not my clothes or house.

No, I spend half my life in the garden, and I only change if I’m going out or after I’ve had a shower in the evening. I am always in jeans or shorts and a T-shirt though around the house and garden, so I’m never uncomfortable.

My only difference is gardening clothes. Otherwise, apart from dressing up for wedding or special occasions I dress the same. You never know who might pop round. !!!

Yes, I always wear more casual clothes indoors, and if I've been out I always change when I get back home.
I wear joggers and soft trousers indoors, t-shirts or sweatshirts,
bedsocks and slippers. I love being comfortable at home.
I often get changed 3/4 times a day. It's a bit over the top but I can't seem to help it.
