Short and dumpy ….. where can I get a decent trouser suit?

Good morning Grandsnetters, I really would appreciate your help in trying to access a decent supplier of trouser suits for an under five foot tall mature lady and a little overweight (you might say!). Have been searching, it seems forever. Any suggestions - sensible please - would be more than welcome. Thank you.

What size?

To be honest I don't think trouser suits actually suit women who are short (and overweight.)
I'm 5'4", not overweight but I wouldn't wear a trouser suit.
I'd prefer to find a smart pair of trousers and a separate jacket that flattered my body shape. Probably in contrasting colours. Hope this might help you to find what you are looking for, rather than a trouser suit. smile

Roman have a log of trousers in petite length.

Almost certainly you can buy matching jackets for at least some of them?

Wel I totally disagree with Aldom -speaking not so much as somebody who is overweight, but like Garfield “under tall”.
I spent the last 10 years of my teaching career in trouser suits and still feel well turned out in a jacket and smart trousers. They just need more determined sourcing though.
Time was labels like Minuet and Precis Petites met the need but no more.
You could look at QVC Danii Minogue Petites - alternatively buy a jacket and trousers separately. Cotswold Collection may be a bit mumsy/county but their quality is good.

Body shapes vary so widely, somehow I've never felt that trouser suits are exactly kind to the wearer. Much better, IMHO, to buy a super pair of tailored trousers and a pretty jacket. The items then, together or separately and for anyone with a less than perfect shape, would probably offer a bigger choice and be a better investment.
