I need new dresses !!

GrammaH I understand what you say about Mini Mouse, I am fortunate that I have tiny feet, depending on make and style I am either a size 2 or 3.

06littlenananj I have 6 Orientique dresses and am waiting for this Autumn's selection so that'll probably add a couple more! I regularly wear 3 old White Stuff dresses of a similar style & I have 3 or 4 old favourites from my favourite boutiques so really, that's me sorted for the winter! If I'm at home, I'm slobbing a about in sweat pants & pullovers. willow73 I do wear black tights & long boots. I have a plain black suede pair with high heels, a pair of navy Fairfax & Favor witl low heels, an ancient tan suede pair with high thin heels & 3 pairs of Fly boots. I don't wear ankle boots with dresses, I'm not 3jeen on the look - Minnie Mouse springs to mind! Each to their own!

I mostly wear trouser, or jeans and tbh mainly jeans. I did say to myself I'll stop wearing jeans when I reach 65, but then thought maybe 70 oops next year I'll be 80 and do you know what girls? I'll wear what I darn well please 😂 I did rather like the midi/maxi wool (was it?) dress though that (I've' shrunk body wise about 5 inches) I purchased last winter and I may see if I can find another one I like this year. Friends can say tome gosh you've got legs 😉

I also buy from Roman Originals on line. They are reasonably priced too

I’ve looked at boots to wear with dresses but they all look so large and ugly!

I have flat suede pixie boots from M & S in various colours.

Opaque tights to match dress and boots.

I have a couple of pairs of knee high boots, but tend to wear these only if it’s very cold and I am out for the day

I'm a big fan of dresses for the winter. I like jersey ones that are colourful and easy to wear and I have quite a few by the Australian company Orientique. They're available online from a variety of companies & boutiques - I'm lucky to have several stockists within easy travelling distance. I also saw a Seasalt dress advertised recently which I loved . Our local store had it and I bought it, it's gorgeous & called Helena.

I like White Stuff and Bon Marché ( my town now got an extended shop within a local garden Centre ) and this year got 2 lovely Unfolded items ( an ethical non-waste company ). Ok for me as a lumpy in the middle old person anyway .

I really like the look of unfolded, what kind of dresses do you have? whats the sizing like?

Have a look in your local charity shops. (Or try those in a "posh area" if you think your ares is too downmarket!) I'm not really a wearer of dresses, but I have a relative who is - and who has purchased beautiful dresses made by excellent companies. All in good condition and from charity shops.

I hadn't thought of looking in different areas! Do you look for specific brands in charity shops too or just what you like?

I like Toast, and East do some lovely dresses, very easy to wear, but a bit more evening.

Bought a lovely loose dress from Gudrun Sjoden a few weeks ago. Ideal with a long sleeved T-shirt for winter. Two of her models are quite old and look fab in her dresses

I like Sea Salt, Monsoon,Per Una,also Roman Originals on line are excellent and have great sales.My daughter swears by Vinted and has got some brand new clothes for a song.

I've heard a lot about vinted, does it put you off that it could be a wrong fit and that you couldn't send it back? I think I might be a bit nervous about ordering! new to shopping secondhand online

Another vote for Vinted, some amazing bargains to be had.

Seasalt have an outlet shop on eBay. Many things at least 50%off. Also get thermal leggings and long sleeved thermal tops from M&S.’ Heatgen . They look like ordinary garments. Not like most thermal underwear. You can still look smart without all the layers!

Weird fish do some nice, casual dresses (not dis-similar to Seasalt in style).
