I've survived over 80 years without having bags under my eyes but now all I see in my mirror is an image like a depressed bloodhound. Is it vain to hope that, at my age, I could at least minimise these bags? And what do you suggest I could do about them?

The exercise that has worked for me is to open your eyes wide, grip your upper lip in your mouth and very slowly lift the muscles in your cheeks and around your nose and try to close your eyes that way.

To begin with you will have great problems getting your muscles to respond because they have not been used much, but bit by bit they will respond. Do this exercise 3 or 4 times aa day and graddually the bags under your eyes should decrease.

I have been doing this exercise for some years and if for any reason I leave off it, after a week or two the bags come back.

Sara Davies has just done a review of the B & M eye masks and said that, despite having really heavy eye bags, these made a dramatic improvement. Skin Technique Gold Hydrogel Eye masks. £1.00 for 3 pairs. I haven't used them myself but she highly recommended them and £1.00 isn't a lot to experiment with.
