Men's cologne....

My DH always states he doesn't want or need anything for Christmas, but he pointed out he was on his last tiny bit of cologne. I have to laugh, it's only the second bottle in our 41 years of marriage. He joked that he might not finish the next one.

He wears Azzaro Pour Homme., and only for occasions. I think I may have to look hard to find it again! What does the man in your life wear, does or did he stick to one fragrance, or change it up once in a while?

If he gets given any he says "What am I supposed to do with this? confused"

Eau Savage - Christian Dior. (Wore that on our wedding day 50 years ago)
But has 3 others too that are favourites now.
Egoiste Platinum by Chanel.
Creed - Aventus
and
Aqua de Gio by Armani.

He always smells clean and lovely! 💙

So does DH, I should add!

None, just lovely au natural.

I’m amazed your DH’s cologne hasn’t gone off, CanadianGran. grin

DH has several bottles sitting on the bathroom shelf, some expensive, all gifts, about half an inch out of each one. Used on high days and holidays only. They’re ditched when they start to smell like Eau de Vinegar.

I like Eau Sauvage , but Christan Dior have changed the formula .
It's less herb based and more musky .
I also really like any up market Oud based colognes for men .
If they are good quality the smell lingers on their clothes .
There is nothing quite like it !

I think the reason it hasn't gone off is that it is a spray bottle, and he keeps it in his drawer, so not exposed to light.

I hate to break tradition, but may have to have a sniff around the beauty counter at the pharmacy.

The best we can offer is Swarfega Pour Homme from Maison Screwfix

Mine won't wear any, apart from deodorant. He says 'Men don't wear scent'.

I can't get my husband to spray his cologne properly - he still insists on spraying onto his hands and rubbing it on his face like aftershave 🙄😂

😀

Sugar and Fairy Liquid together works well and smells much more pleasant!

Love it Nell 😂😂😂

My DH also wears Eau Sauvage (the old version) but has to really check when buying it they are selling him the correct one.

The new version is much sweeter and heavier I don’t know why they didn’t find a different name.

Oh Nell, your post did make me smile. I have three sons in law and one son, and they represent all levels of " fragrance " , from the one like Nell's, to the one who smells of Dior.

So does DP, he only likes a soapy shower sort of scent and won’t use a cologne as once years ago a gifted cologne gave him a rash.

Eat Savage is my absolute favourite. I used to wear it myself, sometimes when younger.

Greyduster Tue 19-Nov-24 15:14:22

He liked Davidoff Cool Water, and L’Occitaine Homme. I only buy cologne for GS now, who has favoured Boss Bottled but may change his mind this year.

EAT SAVAGE!!! What is your man like?
Sorry!

My husband is a L'Occitane fan.

Ooh FGT2 Creed Aventus 👍

DH uses Eau Sauvage - when he remembers.

It's quite common with men of a certain age isn't it?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 19-Nov-24 16:52:07

Gorgeous isn’t it GG13? Expensive though … but he’s so worth it. He’s none at the moment. I sense a trip to the Trafford Centre next week with a friend & buy him a bottle for Christmas. I think it’s more ‘for me’! 🤣

Witzend Tue 19-Nov-24 16:56:39

Someone once gave dh some Cool Water cologne. He never used it so it came in handy as a nice fresh scent for me. I hate anything heavy, over-sweet or musky.

Witzend Tue 19-Nov-24 17:01:21

Who remembers Brut? As a student I thought it the height of sophistication, since a wealthy foreign student dh and I were friends with, always wore it.

Roll on 15 or 20 years, we were living in Oman and I was using Brut shampoo to bath our dog with, after he rolled in a dead turtle on the beach!!
Alas even Brut didn’t altogether banish the stink 😩.
