That's five posts reported!

What is wrong with these companies that they invade a forum like this? Do they really think that the contributors or moderators won't spot them? Credit us with some nous even if we are mostly elderly!

I don’t really possess anything ‘dressy’ any more, so a do at The Wallace Collection to celebrate a BiL’s wedding gave me a bit of a problem!
Eventually I wore (with suitable trousers) a nice top I’d hardly ever worn (since on the dressy side) and a necklace (ditto) that happened to go with it perfectly.

Both had been presents from dds too long ago for them to remember! ‘Oh, that’s really nice, Mum - where did you get it?’
‘From you!!’ 😂

Sounds like quite the outfit adventure! It’s great that your lovely dress still fits, and honestly, if your DH says you look lovely, trust him! Weddings are about joy, not shoe-induced suffering—definitely stash those comfy shoes in the car just in case. You’ve got this—have a fabulous time!

It really has been a while since many of us got properly dressed up, but it feels so good to do it again. I’ve been refreshing my wardrobe with a few timeless pieces from www.shopstyle.com/—so many lovely options for looking polished without feeling overdone.

At DD2’s wedding, I was rushing around meeting and greeting etc and it was only during the ceremony that I realised I was still in my comfy shoes! Quick exit to the car for the formal ones.

Enjoy yourself - the last wedding I went to was about 15 years ago. I hardly go to big functions these days and I always wear trousers as my legs are too skinny 😂
Your husband says you look lovely - that’s all you need. Enjoy !

Enjoy yourself, Granny, it's fun to get dressed up in finery sometimes - although I definitely agree about the comfy shoes.

If your DH thinks you look lovely then obviously you do. Go and enjoy yourself and yes, take those comfy shoes too or dance bare foot.

Going to a wedding in a few weeks, our lovely friends, I have a lovely Jacques Vert dress that I had for my nieces wedding pre covid that is suitable and luckily still fits, but I have had to buy new shoes, I tried everything on this morning but what a faff, putting tights and the "correct" underwear I haven't worn tights for years as I usually wear trousers or something longer to cover my horrible legs. I did order 2 lovely maxi dresses , thinking I could get away with not wearing them but they both tight across the bust, and everything else seems to either very formal , sequins and slinky or suitable for a beach bar. 🙄🤷 . Putting on more formal shoes I felt like I was plodding around and a bit like Les Dawson when he dressed up. DH said I looked lovely so going to have to take his word for it. Wish me luck, (shall I slip my comfy shoes in the car just in case😂)
