Difficult one Cabbie.My hairdresser owns the business but she still has a tin on the counter with her name on it for tips

I was always taught that you don’t tip the owner of a business, so I don’t tip my hairdresser, except at Christmas.
I’ve just come back from a coach trip and tipped the driver/ tour leader, even though he owns the business. He worked incredibly hard, looking after all the arrangements as well as driving, and always putting our comfort as a high priority.

I used to tip everybody, but I decided last year not to, as they should be paid sufficient money.

I always pay on my card but there are tip tins on the counter so I put anything up to £5 in hers. I always buy her a birthday gift plus I always buy the salon some nice biscuits or chocolates at Christmas.

I usually think 10% so on my £16 wash and cut I give her £2.

I have naturally curly hair I go the hairdressers with freshly washed hair.
The hairdresser cuts it puts some mousse on it and I let it dry naturally.
I usually get charged £16 I let her keep the change she cuts it exactly how I want it so it's worth the tip.
