Sorry, that probably wasn't much help hmm

Many years ago I dyed my brunette hair blonde and was shocked to get a strawberry blonde because I have a lot of red in my hair. Someone told me that dark hair needs to be stripped before it can go blonde so box dyes won't work. I'm not a hair dresser and haven't dyed my hair for thirty years so I've no idea if that is true.

In your place I would buy some beautiful scarves and use them wrapped around my face/hairline to bring a bit of colour, plus some nice colourful earrings. I know what you mean about eye makeup - I'm finding it harder and harder to get it on straight so I use less and less. I use blush and bronzer now to add a bit of colour, plus doing eyebrows and a bright lipstick.

Really White hair doesn't take dye very well. Read the instructions on the box unless it’s specifically for white/ grey then it won’t look like the colour on the box. Save up for a professional job, embrace the colour or just go for a silver toner which will shine it up.

Probably not what you want to hear but why not the grey come in? Its such a release not having to bother about the roots and redying every 6wks lots of women are giving the dyeing up and embracing their grey/silver/white locks.

If I could afford professional colouring, I would.

I want my hair to be the colour of Joanna Lumleys. (I’d like her voice too, actually…)
I’ve tried a beige blond mousse….that just left me mousey with a hint of red.
Ash blond colour just gives me more of the same.
I’m looking for box dye, that’ll leave me looking blond, in a yellow way. You know the one….very slightly tarty.

With my very pale colouring, difficulty in wearing eye make up, I feel my head looks like a white balloon.
