Hello,

Is there such a thing as a Yoga top that doesn’t ride up or fall over your head when you do a Downward Dog?

If anyone knows of such a thing, please could you let me know.

🧘‍♀️Thank you 🧘‍♀️

What does the Yoga instructor wear?

A fitted t shirt rather than a loose one.

Longer tees with a broad hip band such as those made by BAM?

Jaxjacky

T shirt tucked in.

When I wassail and toned I wore Mn S straight legged joggers cotton rich still on sale which dont ride down you legs in handstand, headstand, or shoulder stand, and nor flattering than leggings.

(Never liked leggings, and they are not good if you are prone to thrush)

and honestly at the gym legging wise I think mature ladies might consider view of their backside from behind

Top - when I was slim I wore a close fitting gym short sleeved top or long sleeve lycra mix top. Now I'm with Jax Jacky - tuck in the nice flattering top for all sorts.

But you can also wear a close fitting top with a flared lightweight one on top of it, best of both worlds.

🤣. A lycra top should fit the bill

I had exactly the same problem yesterday; if I wear a t shirt tight enough not to slide forward during a downward dog then my spare tyres are all on show 😆

Yoga tops from Sweaty Betty are good.

I usually thread some elastic around the hem of my gym tops to prevent them riding up while I’m exercising

George @ asda sell longline vest teeshirts. They cover your bum and are stretchy, its what i use for my exercise class, you can always add a layer on top of cold

I wear Under Armour vest tops which are stretchy material, quite long and sweat wicking. I’ve had several from Vinted at a fraction of the normal price and they sometimes even have the tags still on.

I do yoga at home most days - (Daily Yoga - really good app) so it doesn’t matter what I wear - often my pjs 👍 Also, I highly recommend yoga, has helped me stay flexible and fit(ish) even with a long term illness.

Didn’t answer your question though…. Tighter t shirt that won’t ride up or flap open at the top in down dog.

A vest top with a figure hugging cut would be ideal. M&S are nice or try TK Maxx. However if you don't want to splash out or if you don't like figure hugging vests, then this is what I do. Put on a comfy, roomy t-shirt. Take one elastic hairband. Pull your t-shirt out to one side, and tie up the excess material so that the shirt is much closer to your body but also comfortable. Downward dog away to your hearts content. Do not spend a second of the class worrying if your bum looks big in this. Enjoy your class, I wish I was there but my knees are having none of it.
