I’ve developed a small crop of whiteheads on my chin, something I didn’t expect in my late 70s. Can anyone recommend an exfoliating treatment that won’t irritate my sensitive skin please? I find GN expertise much more reliable than Google.

I don't have this problem but I'm replying to you in the hope that this will push the post up and some one can help you!

Thank you Blue14, that’s kind of you.

Sorry but forget exfoliating!
I had a few.
My skin is also touchy.
I cleaned the skin with iodine on a bud and I pierced each whitehead with a new but disinfected needle.
They didn't return.

Thanks Esmay, I’ll give that a try.

Find a beauty therapist who will remove them for you.
Do it yourself methods are not always successful and can be unsightly.
(speaking from experience!)

I have done it with a fine needle that I sort of sterlised with a match flame. I pierce and cut the skin over the whitehead with thee needle and had to sort of squeeze out the content which had hardened into a tiny yellowish lump.
I agree ---- get a reputable beauty therapist to do it for you

I had a really unsightly crop of whiteheads and I couldn't afford to go to a therapist .
My neighbour's daughter asked me what they were and worse -were they out of my nose?
I think that if you are careful then using a sterile sharp needle and one little "prick " (sorry !) that the contents will disperse .
Mine did .
Just one more thing-don't attempt anything like this if you have a tendency to keloid scarring .
Not even a professional therapist should attempt it .
Only a Doctor .
