What did he put on my hair?

My very fine hair is not really thin, but certainly rather less thick than it used to be. My usual hairdresser, a Brazilian, has always been v good but yesterday he did something different, put something on it at the end and ‘fluffed it up’. As he said, ‘A bit messy, looks very nice!’

Apparently it was a bit of wax and something else. TBH I do prefer it like this - more volume! - so would like to do the same.
Didn’t think to ask him exactly what he used - he didn’t try to sell me anything - but any ideas? I’m pretty clueless about such things!

My hairdresser uses a mousse which is textured. It definitely fluffed my sparse hair

Why don’t you ring the hairdressers or pop in when passing and ask?

My hairdresser introduced me to dry shampoo to give volume. A few squirts at roots, rough up the hair then just use fingers to give shape. So easy.

Why not ask?
They’re usually more than happy to sell you another product.

Yes, that’d be pretty obvious, but it’s not a road I use except for the hairdresser, and there’s nowhere to park.
I was hoping someone might be able to recommend an actual product.

I’d phone the salon.

And, the expertise of the hairdresser might be relevant.

a styling wax.. comes in little tubs.. gives a messy look

Mousse probably.
My hairdresser loves to sell me his expensive shampoos and conditioner on the promise that they are anti frizz. I tend to have dry messy hair

Witzend proceed with caution😆 You’ve mention Brazilian and wax . If you contact the salon you might get more than you bargained for 😱

That’s very funny grannywanny🤭
I use a wax thats not too heavy which is good or a saline type spray on which gives body but not the gunk feeling if heavy wax

I use wax which I get from Savers it’s not very expensive but gives it a bit of oomph just rub a bit in your hands and ruffle it through your hair
I don’t like mousse

I use a product calledFish it’s sold in the men’s section and is really good on my short hair

Probably clay pomade - that's what my hairdresser has used before on my hair and it defo floomphs it up quite a bit.
