Makeup options for menopausal acne

As you can see, I have terrible menopausal acne. I'm already on accutane for it. I'm looking for makeup options for the spots and scars. I'm 52 years old.

Just wondering who diagnosed this, GrandmaBeth and if it could be acne rosacea for which the treatment is different.

I developed acne rosacea due to a lot of stress or so I was told and was post-menopausal. It was diagnosed by a Consultant Dermatologist and the treatment is different than that for acne, a different oral antibiotic and a cream

I was just prescribed the cream, Rozex cream (0.75% metronidazole) and it worked.

I'd ask for another appointment and, if necessary, a referral to a Dermatologist if you haven't yet seen one.

Good luck. It can be quite distressing.

Thank you.

My primary doctor and my dermatologist both said it's acne. Does it look like rosacea to you? It doesn't look like any rosacea I've ever seen.

I'm not a specialist, just remember having spots and it was diagnosed as acne rosacea.

Acne rosacea can present as just redness or pustules.

If you've seen a dermatologist they should have diagnosed it correctly. Good luck with the treatment.

I'd be careful using making for the time being though, although I know you will want to. Perhaps get advice from an expert. A green-tinted one is recommended, I think.
