Has anyone bought clothes from Roman?

I haven’t bought anything new to wear for yonks, but posts from Roman appeared on my Facebook and I had a look. I quite like a few garments, the reviews are mostly very positive but as per post title, has anyone bought from this company? I’m wondering about quality of materials, how true-to-size the clothes are, and if you had any problems, was the company responsive?
I promised myself a good while back that for sustainability, etc. I didn’t need/wouldn’t buy anything new and would buy from charity shops, etc. instead. But, unfortunately, my local charity shops are 1) just not getting in/displaying many nice quality garments in my size and 2) those that I’ve seen in my size are imo, often ridiculously overpriced and/or poor quality.

I have bought some clothes from Roman and found them good enough quality. They're not top notch, but wearable for the price.

I don't know about their customer service as I've never needed to send anything back.

I have been a regular buyer of Roman clothing,I love the range and I find the pricing reasonable.Always been true to size

I’ve kept the smaller size top. I haven’t looked for any more from Roman as of yet, been spending money elsewhere (World of Books 😁)
Overall, I would definitely buy from Roman again and am happy with the two garments I’ve kept.

nana8 NO nothing like Temu which is absolute rubbish and I cannot stand the dreadful conditions the thousands of workers are enslaved into I wouldn’t buy a paper bag off them

Not a complete success then *grannydarkhair” but don’t be discouraged.
I return stuff all the time if it’s not right for me.
We’re fortunate to be able to sit in our comfy homes and shop at any time of day from a vast array of clothing - it’s the benefit of the internet when we no longer have shops we can reach.

Not a lot of joy with my order.
I’m keeping the sweater, it feels lovely and soft although tbh, I have my doubts as to how well it’s going to wash.
I’m returning for a refund the lightweight cardigan, the sleeves are kimono-type and are very wide compared to how they looked in the online photos. I just know I’d be sure to catch them on door-handles, and get them covered in food if eating.
I’m also returning for refunds two tops, neither of which fit well, both are tightish in the bust area but far too big around my shoulders plus both have poor pattern matching which is very noticeable especially on the back of one of them. I’m really disappointed these are no good because I love the colours of both of them and they are a completely different style from my usual.
I’m returning/requesting a smaller size in the third top which is much more in the style I usually wear. So fingers crossed for that.
I’m also going to have another trawl through the website, I liked the look of quite a few other garments.

I bought some items some years ago in a Roman Originals concession within a garden centre. Good stuff. I only stopped buying was because I’d put on weight and they didn’t do plus sizes.

ClicketyClick Yes, I’ve planned to post again once I’ve received my order, I dislike the threads where the OP totally disengages after a while.

Grannydarkhair - do let us know if you are happy with the clothes you've ordered. You will get discount codes often and their sales are true sale prices not like some stores that inflate the price for a short time and then put as 'Sale' price later to the original price.

We have a Roman outlet nearby, so I try on quite a lot at reasonable pricing. Often a little short for me, but also a bit on the generous size (M&S sizing) especially for my waist.

I finally decided on my order - three tops, a light weight cardigan and a sweater. I’ve not actually worn a sweater for years, didn’t/don’t like the feeling of confinement/not being able to strip off if/when I got too hot so it’s been tops and cardigans for me. But I really like the style of the one I’ve ordered so fingers crossed it, and the others all fit.
Had an introductory discount of 20%, so that made them even more of an attractive buy. There’s actually quite a few other garments I really like, had 12 in my bag at one point but thought I’d be sensible and only order what I really liked, all five of them are a bit different to what I already own.

The Roman petite sizing is spot on, I have a couple of tops and I’m very pleased with them.

Roman 👍

I've only had a couple of things from them (I was lucky enough to win a £50 voucher for their shops so used that) but I was very happy with the items I bought. I only got kimonos - I hate wearing a jacket during the spring / summer and I can't have wool near my skin, so these are ideal. They wash lovely and look really nice on and they've lasted really well so far. Go on, treat yourself.

I have, for some years, used Romans as a mail-order company and had no problems at all in returning purchases which have turned out not to be quite what I expected or wanted. The packages come with all the necessary labels and returning the goods is postage-free. Plus - the garments are well-priced and easily comparable with - if not superior to - the products I've bought from everybody's favourite high street stores.

We actually have a roman shop near me, I've bought several items . I've never had a problem with sizes or quality

I bought a dress for a wedding about four years ago from Roman. I was very pleased with it and good true fit and length.for 16.
BUT it had a fine glittered pattern on it … sparkles fell off all over the place at the wedding, dark velvet sofas, deep blue dining chairs, people’s cars!
Roman took it back when I explained, even though I’d worn it. They gave me full refund as a voucher which expired before I ever used it, because I didn’t trust them. I might give them another look after all the positives above.

I've had a few jumpers and dresses from Roman, all good quality and usually a a urate reflection of the website pictures. What I really like about Roman is that they provide plenty of detail about the garment, including length (which most other retailers don't- very annoying) and also you see a video of a model wearing the garment so you can see how it hangs and moves. I find this invaluable, wish other retailers would follow suit. Never any problems with returns, either.

You could also give a shop called Lands End a try too . Their prices are quite high but the quality of their clothes is excellent. They sell to the USA too so have mostly dual sizing but it’s easy to follow . Their cotton T Shirts are of really good quality and are often on sale for around £10 .
Even when they don’t have a sale on they often have an offer of 25% off full prices . It’s well worth giving them a go .

I have bought several items of knitwear from Roman. I love them and wear them frequently. They wash well and look as good as new.
I would stress that they are nothing like Temu who sell cheap polyester rubbish.

Thisismyname1953 Wed 11-Feb-26 20:40:11

I particularly like their capri pants for the summer . They do regular and petite sizes and lots of colours . The fabric is excellent and washes time and again with no fading or bobbling .

charliebb Wed 11-Feb-26 20:08:23

I've vmbought several tops and they've been perfect. Comfortable to wear fabrics, nice designs. I'd say go for it.

NannySue45 Wed 11-Feb-26 19:42:12

I've had several things from Roman and always been happy. Good value for money.

4allweknow Wed 11-Feb-26 19:03:36

I bought tops and jumpers from Roman for a few years. Now I'm not so keen on buying online due to their costs. There is an outlet in a shopping park 35 miles away I could visit but last time I was there variety was quite small. I did find quality and sizing good.

Shizam Wed 11-Feb-26 18:52:44

Bought a long summer dress from them last year. It’s lovely. Good price. Think I got on to their site via mumsnet, or maybe this one.
