Face Cleansers

Bellah, supermarkets sell large pots of Astral and Nivea cold cream, as Ponds substitutes.

Dove soap, warm water and a big soft facecloth does the job for me.

I use Ponds Cold Cream - as did my mother who was an actress and a dancer and she used it a lot - and its certainly kept my skin nice.

Baby lotion - cheap and mild - and rinse off with water...

I used to love Anne French cleansing milk. So refreshing, too.

Thanks ladies very helpful suggestions. I remember Ponds from years ago I take it is still readily available I haven't really been looking but can't recall seeing it on the shelves in Boots or Super drug type places.

Hi Bellah. I can recommend Nivea 2-1 milk and toner. It's really soothing and removes all make-up efficiently. I belive Joan Collins uses it too

I tried Cien cleansing milk from Lidl and it was very good, though I used it with a hot cloth to rinse off. But my go-to favourite is always Clean+Clear for sensitive skin used with good sized cotton face pads to clean my skin as I wipe. No rinsing needed. I have greasy skin, so it suits me, but others may find it too harsh. If you don’t like actually washing your face with water, you could try a piece of muslin (such as they sell for babies nowadays) soaked in warm water and wrung dry to wipe off a creamy cleanser, such as the Cien one I mentioned.

I use NUXE. It's in a pink bottle.
Anything else I find too astringent and shrinks my skin, whereas NUXE is soft and gentle. It does the job well for me.

I know from similar OPs that Ponds Cold Cream is still a firm favourite cleanser for many GNs. I like Nivea micellar water for daily use, but once a week, do a double cleanse with Elemis ProCollagen Cleansing Balm, but that’s a wash off product.

Boots everyday cleansing wipes. Blue packet. Cheap and cheerful they do the job. They do say for sensitive skin but there are other ones in the range. Then a good rub with just a flannel and cold water in the morning. I save my money for No 7 moisturiser cream.

Simple at moment but I use bamboo cloth to wipe clean my face.

The M and S Formula products are fabulous. I do prefer wash off cleanser but they do balms and other types. I have combination skin prone to redness. We don't have a local M and S so I stop up when near to one or look online.

I use Clinique face wash as I do like stuff you can rinse off.
