Moisturiser - recommendations please.

I use Clarins but they have discontinued the cream I like. I did quite a supply from Sephora though a lot cheaper. My DD bought me Lancôme but I was not impressed.

L'Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water - started using this about 10 years ago after being life long Olay fan.
It glides on and is absorbed in seconds and is less than £10 for 70 ml.
After using this all creams feel heavy and greasy I love it.

For most of my life I have used whatever has been on offer when I shop for facial products.
I think using every day and night and cleaning every scrap of makeup of when going to bed is most important.
I obviously have wrinkles on my 88 year old face but not deep ones and being fair skinned I don’t sit in the sun.
I also like Weleda and have both day and night cream from them.
I have never paid ridiculous prices.
My friend across the road uses the No 7 latest range, I can’t remember the name ,it is in a silver tube, but it is very expensive to me, she uses the serum , day and night creams , I have been in Boots with her when she has stocked up, it costs over £100 for the set.
She does have a lovely skin.

I always chatted with the ladies in the care homes about their skin care routines, and the answers were honestly so different.

I'm sure some must be down to genes.

I agree with SOREs, it makes a big difference to the texture of your skin if you use an exfoliating cleanser with a cloth before you moisturise. I’ve just bought some Laroche-Posay factor 50+ serum sunscreen, as I’m outside a lot, and I’m finding that brilliant for daytime moisturiser. If I’m out I put tinted moisturiser on top. At night I use my old faithful Estée Lauder Dramatically Different serum, under any old night cream I’ve been gifted or bought on offer, I’ve been using it for years, and I love it.

After commenting on the missed products thread I googled Ponds vanishing cream. That's no longer available but Ponds moisturiser did. I found it on Amazon at £4.49 a tub. I went ahead and a little pot duly arrived. Well it's great! The creamy glides on and is quickly absorbed. I'm a convert.

Lidl's cream came 3rd in the list of recommendations for face creams . Less than a tenth of the price of the others on the list. I use their day and night creams.

I have used Olay for over 60 years and I have excellent skin. I have also occasionally used the Aldi range. I am often gifted the more expensive ranges, Lancome etc, I happily use them but wouldn't buy them, mainly because I love to slather it on.

I have been using M&S Formula Moisturiser 20 SPF (Winter) and 30SPF (Summer) until now, from when it seems to have disappeared completely off the shelves and on line. No-one seems to know why, but would certainly recommend it if you can find it! Can’t use Nivea, Simple is great if you can find it. Currently using one (with collagen) from Superdrug, SPF30, which I bought at half price - seems to be doing the trick.

I used to be a very loyal Lancôme user. Due to personal circumstances I found that I could no longer afford high end products. I have found that Primark (yes Primark) moisturiser £2! Is fabulous manufactured in a high end manufacturer !!!! Really is great and use so little, try it ! And apparently their mascara is great too !

Very recently treated myself to some ESPA products,(mostly a shower gel and some travel hair masks) but i got a few freebies in a lovely toiletry bag,one of which is small tub of Optimal Skin Pro- Moisteriser and oh its smells divine! And my skin feels much better now(i used 3days) but i got a small spot in T-area but i think maybe i was a bit liberal with it- especially with the heat as it is- i think ill use every couple of days.But a little does go a long way,i only used some from the lid.Theres also a clean& green detox mask free so ill use that today.I got proper travel size freebies.Im well impressed.ESPA is not something ill buy on a regular basis though its a bit pricey for me, but it seems to be worth it.

I have been using a lovely moisturizer which I originally found on a stall at the Gardeners World exhibition some years ago. It's called Eternal Skincare and is made with natural ingredients including aloe and marigold. It is fragrance free and is beautifully moisturising. I too am 76 and have a lot of compliments on my skin. This comes in generous size pots at a very agreeable price and can now be bought on Amazon, although if you buy it direct from Eternal Skincare there are savings to be made, and a loyalty scheme which makes future purchases better value. I highly recommend this product.❤️
