Moisturiser - recommendations please.

Which magazine recently tested night creams, from the cheapest ( lidl) to the really expensive ones, and the Cien one from Lidl was awarded best buy. The testers couldn't tell any difference between this one, at under £5, and others costing £70/80!

I used to be a fan of Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser but something in it changed so I stopped using it. Currently, Aldi moisturiser followed ny a factor 50 face protector from Mercadonna in Spain. If ever you are in Spain, check out there beauty products. Excellent value and highly regarded. I used Clinique from 30 to around 70 and stopped because it didn’t seem to be as good as it used to be. I switched to No 7 restore and renew with the serum on first. I find using the cream doesn’t sit so well without the serum. Upshot is I really like it and at 78 I’m told I have stopped the clock! Quite chuffed with those comments.

I’m 67 and pleased to admit I have very few wrinkles, I like Elemis cleansing balm and pro collagen marine cream moisturiser
My skin hasn’t become dryer with age it’s always been oily and still is

It is never better, you need to use both, do completely different things to the skin

I use CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, Daily Moisturizing Lotion and their exfoliating cleanser once a week.Their products are good for sensitive skin.

I agree with Casdon, I like La Roche Posay, they do many different ranges and are recommended by dermatologists.
If you go to a larger store where they have properly trained sales staff they can help you choose the range that is best for you. I have a variety of products as my skin varies from season to season. Their products are mainly not very expensive and are excellent for sensitive skin.

I like there cicaplast cream as I’ve sensitive cheeks.

Cerave night cream is very, very good.

I like Weleda and the more natural products but for facial moisturiser, the only one that does the job is Nivea crème. I wish I could find something else but haven’t succeeded yet.

I think the ones i used to get were in a pale green tube.
So, they've either discontinued them, or perhaps changes the colour.
Perfect and....protect, maybe?

I have been using the Boots creams for the past few years - am very happy with them. I use the serum, day and night moisturiser and eye creams. I use the one for oldies (age renew or something like that) the serum and eye creams come in grey tubes. Its not that expensive and each cream seems to last for ages and often there is a 3 for 2 offer on plus £5 as well at the moment I think. I'm nearly 80 and often get complimented on my skin looking good!

Totally agree. I get given pricey serums and moisturisers, but Aldi and Lidl’s are just as good. And have SPF in the cream too

It amazes me how so many people buy an assortment of creams/lotions, toiletries without considering the ingredients. I wouldn't have most of them in my house let alone on my skin/hair. Buy natural and organic and you won't go wrong. There's also a great app you can download which tells you how clean the product is by just scanning it.

Husband bought me some Clarins products for my 40th birthday. They were lovely and my skin looked great so I gradually bought more. Clarins counters used to have Discovery Weeks - good time to buy. I look out for their special offers and buy then. My favourite products are their Double Serum; moisturiser and hand cream

Roe water and god old Nivea.

I have been using a lovely moisturizer which I originally found on a stall at the Gardeners World exhibition some years ago. It's called Eternal Skincare and is made with natural ingredients including aloe and marigold. It is fragrance free and is beautifully moisturising. I too am 76 and have a lot of compliments on my skin. This comes in generous size pots at a very agreeable price and can now be bought on Amazon, although if you buy it direct from Eternal Skincare there are savings to be made, and a loyalty scheme which makes future purchases better value. I highly recommend this product.❤️

Very recently treated myself to some ESPA products,(mostly a shower gel and some travel hair masks) but i got a few freebies in a lovely toiletry bag,one of which is small tub of Optimal Skin Pro- Moisteriser and oh its smells divine! And my skin feels much better now(i used 3days) but i got a small spot in T-area but i think maybe i was a bit liberal with it- especially with the heat as it is- i think ill use every couple of days.But a little does go a long way,i only used some from the lid.Theres also a clean& green detox mask free so ill use that today.I got proper travel size freebies.Im well impressed.ESPA is not something ill buy on a regular basis though its a bit pricey for me, but it seems to be worth it.

I used to be a very loyal Lancôme user. Due to personal circumstances I found that I could no longer afford high end products. I have found that Primark (yes Primark) moisturiser £2! Is fabulous manufactured in a high end manufacturer !!!! Really is great and use so little, try it ! And apparently their mascara is great too !

I have been using M&S Formula Moisturiser 20 SPF (Winter) and 30SPF (Summer) until now, from when it seems to have disappeared completely off the shelves and on line. No-one seems to know why, but would certainly recommend it if you can find it! Can’t use Nivea, Simple is great if you can find it. Currently using one (with collagen) from Superdrug, SPF30, which I bought at half price - seems to be doing the trick.
