Who loves a bride?

I like royal weddings, because I’ve got a thing for tiaras. I didn’t recognise Harriet’s, which is beautiful. Apparently rather than being borrowed from the Royals, it was loaned to her by jewellers Predding, who made her engagement ring. They look very happy and natural, which is the most important thing.

I wish them well, but, personally I am utterly indifferent to what brides wear. I never ever wanted a big white wedding for myself, not even as uite a young child.

DD is the same. I never told her my views because I did want to prejudice her and we have never had wedding pictures of DH of me on display, but when she was about 8 she suddenly asked me, 'Mummy.if I get married do I have to dress like a lampshade?' I assured her this that was not necessary, while inwardly cheering that she had reached the same conclusions as me at about the same age.

The dress looked a bit Miss Havisham to me.

I think white dresses and veils are ridiculous for any wedding. It’s just girls wanting to be a princess for the day. And don’t even start me on the bride’s father “giving her away”. It’s like something from the Middle Ages. I’ve got nothing against marriage just the nonsense and expense that goes with it.

I’m with you, to me it’s all about being a princess for a day and a huge amount of money for nothing.
I’d have a big party and private registry office for the signing of the legal necessaries without all the hullabaloo.

It was all lovely but I agree about white and a long veil over the face for a second wedding.
I think there are beautiful dresses in ivory or cream better suited but then I’m an old fuddy duddy.

I thought the King looked very well and so did Camilla. I noticed she stood still for a few seconds as soon as she got out of the car. We all know that feeling. Don’t move until your knees are behaving! 😂

She looks stunning. I am sure that the rain did not spoil their special day. I wish them every happiness.

They do look happy, her daughter and his two daughters where the bridesmaids.

Noted King and Queen at Epsom for the Darby how nice to see still them in the same clothes no quick change, good for them.

Seems like there's a veil over any logical reason for Allira's banning. Bring back Allira!

They look very happy and glamorous, I wish them well

She looks lovely. Who knows what her first wedding was like? Maybe this time she was making up for what she didn’t have the first time. Who can blame her for that? She has a nice kind face, they look happy and I, for one, wish them well with all the daughters involved equally too.

Been on the news today.
Very elegant. Not sure if second time around warrants the full on white dress but hey ho who am I to judge.
Would have been nice to hear comments from the ever interesting and witty Allira

I'm not sure about brides in white second time around. I liked Camilla's outfit when she married Charles.

I wish them well. Thankfully they are one step removed from the Royals who attract the most attention and Anne has always lived her life privately so am sure they will at least escape the scandals and daily obsession the press have with Royal gossip.

I always love a bride! It is a shame about this ghastly weather! It’s June and I’m cold, and it’s done nought but rain all day!

MartavTaurus Sat 06-Jun-26 15:38:57

Nice dress, shame about the weather.

If you don't know who it is, look it up. (Royals)
