Elbow length sleeves

We are all different and my particular need is to cover my upper arms. I have managed to find a few T-shirts and dresses with elbow length sleeves but this summer being so hot I’d like to buy a few more. Can anyone recommend where to buy these. Thanks.

Matalan have simple cotton t-shirts with three quarter sleeve, they come to just below elbow. They wash well, but currently only colours are black, white and light grey. I'm hoping they'll get more options back in soon.

Cotton Traders had a lot, also Edinburgh Mills, but it is coming to the end of the season. I have been known to buy long or 3/4 sleeved tops and shorten them to just above the elbow. A herringbone stitch does a neat job if they are stretchy.

You might find things you like in Seasalt. I like either full length sleeve or short and found many things at elbow length, so it may suit you

In summer I virtually live in Seasalt ‘sailor’ stripey tops, pure cotton, elbow length sleeves. I must have at least 7 in different colours, collected over the years, they wash and wear very well.

Of course depending upon size, I have seen several at ZARA.

Crew also have three quarter sleeved striped t shirts. They are online for £15 in the sale. Lots of colours

I don't like my flabby, wrinkly upper arms but in the heat this year I've been wearing sleeveless tops and dresses and what's more I haven't cared. Rather be cooler and comfortable, I'm working on the assumption that I'm an elderly woman so who's going to look at me anyway.

Knspol I totally agree, live and let live without judgement.

I have a few very cool, very thin cotton tops with longer sleeves, bought specifically for really hot weather. Call me vain, but I do care what I look like. Good luck to anyone who doesn’t, though.

Have you tried Ulla Popken who sell tee shirts in every colour of the rainbow or Froxx?

Nobodys Child have dresses and tops with elbow length sleeves. I've only seen online or in Marks and Spencer. I bought a dress in their sale and it is very good quality.

M and S have some t shirts with elbow length sleeves I’ve only seen them in white or breton stripes. About £12.

Have you tried Vinted, all sorts of bargains to be had.

I got a lovely one for £2 from the charity shop

Try Roman, I’ve bought several all with below elbow sleeves.

I have several M&S T-shirts with 3/4 sleeves - I'm only a size 8/10 but I always buy bigger to give more room in M&S Tees. Seasalt has 2 tee-shirts for £40, very good choice of colours and good quality fabric. I got an excellent Joules Tee for £2 from the sale at my local charity shop. Very good jersey fabric.

Well maybe for a special occasion - why worry? Be yourself - we’re not in the shop window any more 😀

It’s V-necks I’m desperate for! Where have they all gone?

Yes, I was wondering that. All tee shirts seem to have crew necks, sometimes quite tight, high and not very comfy.

I've only seen v-necks on dresses but they were the sort that plunge practically to the waist!

Who is looking at anybody’s arms? Enjoy being cool and let the air get to you.

I have a Seasalt bolero type cardi (buttonless) with 3/4 sleeves. Its small and light and pops over all my existing sleeveless dresses and tees. Actually I have 2 one in blue and one in green. Very useful into the autumn as well

HelterSkelter1 Tue 04-Aug-26 07:13:13

I dont like my arms now at 77 and I know it should not matter, but it does.

Thank you all for your great suggestions, especially the one about shortening a three quarter length sleeve. I’ll have to get an attachment for my ancient sewing machine. It made me realise I could also do this with long sleeve dresses.

I am with you on this. Dresses with tummy control, with stomach hiding design all seem to have those hideous cap or no sleeves, or narrow long ones.

I have some men's from Primark, but I am not very big busted. Cotton Traders are good, but nearly always out of stock in my size because of their popularity
