I have tried to do this but with no success. I want to be able to " hide" when I am online and don't want to take a Skype call. I have looked at every option but can't see anything that points me in that direction.
Can anyone tell me the first thing to look at. Thank you.

Beside your name up near the top left is a little green tick icon and a down-pointing arrow. If you click on the down arrow you can change your status from "online" where they can contact you, to "do not disturb" where you are there but do not want to talk, or to "invisible" where you can call out but no-one can see that you are available.

Thank you sooooo much for that, Elegran. Soooo simple when someone points you in the right direction. Why can't they make things simple.
