Skype on iPad

Can anyone help.
I put Skype on my iPad. The problem is, for the life of me I can't figure out how to put contacts on it. I have pressed every button possible ( my usual way of figuring things out LOL).
There is nothing to indicate Add Contact.

Just looked on mine and there is a people button - then there is a + sign at the top right which allows you to add people with the email etc, but I think that they have to be on Skype too.
Someone on here is bound to know exactly! With the iPad there is also FaceTime which is good but my DS calls me on that so I know nothing about it!!! grin
