Spam texts

I've had quite a few calls and texts for a man who (I think) lives in Lancashire, and they do sound like a genuine mistake, as if he has written a digit wrong on his mobile number for someone and it's been passed on. I felt like phoning him up to tell him until I thought about it

Funnily enough I live very close to the central police station and virtually every day I see police driving along the road whilst talking in their mobile phones (hand held at that) hmmm a definite case of "don't do as I do, do as I say. Perhaps I should be giving them a definite thumbs down!

I think you are very lucky.
I was driving back from Bournemouth last year and the phone rang 3 times.
I do not answer the phone while I am driving. I pull in to the next convenient place.
I pulled in and all of the calls were recorded announcements about PPI.
A few months ago I got a sat nav with blue tooth and I can check who is ringing on the screen.
If it is a genuine call I will say I will call you back at the first opportunity.
If it is rubbish I will ignore it and just drive on.
Strangely enough I got the thumbs up once from a police car when I pulled in to answer my phone.
It was a junk call but I know the police were complimenting me for doing things correctly.

Perhaps I am lucky but I have never received any spam texts or nuisance calls on my mobile. (cue for them to start!!)

My phone gave up 2 weeks ago and I was forced to put my hand in my pocket to buy a new one.
It was only 4 years old.
Since I have had my new phone I had not received a single text till yesterday.
I had to get my daughter to send one to see if the text side was working.
Mind you most of the texts I received were junk.
