Has anyone

1. Installed a good word processing package on their iPad and if so which would you recommend?

2. Found out how to alter fonts, do strike throughs, etc when sending emails on an iPad?

Pages is very good. I think it is £6.99 but worth it. I haven't found out how to do no 2 on an email but you can do it in pages and cut and paste to an e mail.

Cheers Brenda I'll check this out.

Just found out how to change text in emails. Type text into your email. and the put your finger on beginning of the line until the select option comes up. Highlight the text and the option bar appears one of the options is of BIU. Is on the option bar so you can change the highlighted text to bold italic or underline.
There is a way to change text size also but I have not yet got that to work!

You can increase text size generally in settings. General. Text size. There is a slide which you move left or right. Hope that's helpful. I will always try to answer IPAD queries.

I agree with Pages it is worth the money,

Add a Bluetooth keyboard and you almost have a versatile Laptop.

May I ask? How does one find 'Pages?

whenim64 Mon 06-Jan-14 15:03:55

Type it into 'search' on the App Store, Annie. It's about £6.99.

I don't do tec speak. A friend has bought a nexus , she can speak her emails, if this makes sense , is this possible on an iPad ?

I think it's equipped with a dragon package. At least mine is.

Stansgran Mon 13-Jan-14 14:22:28

A dragon package? Annibach being Welsh.

Galen Mon 13-Jan-14 14:57:18

It's not a welsh dragon. I think that technically the welsh dragon is a why erm.

If it's a newish one then yes Siri will type your emails or messages or appointments etc.
if you don't want to use Siri if you look to the left of the space bar you will find a microphone symbol. Press that!
