Shortcut keys

When I did a sciency OU course several years ago I got used to using all those subscripts and superscript stuff for the chemistry stuff of rocks. I would not know where to start now.

If you do the same with a letter requiring an accent use the same technique êęëė

The only one I know Galen was taught to me by another clever Gransnetter. Hold you finger down on the zero number and a tiny version will come up to use for a degree sign. You just drag your finger up to it eg

Anyone know any iPad shortcuts?

I assume you know ctrl-k: copy page to a new tab, and ctrl-n: copy to a new window. I use both of those a lot too. The one I want but can't find is for yellow highlight in MS Word.

Left arrow puts the window on the left side of the screen, right arrow on the right etc. If you want to view two windows side by side it's a lot quicker than dragging them with the mouse. I use it a lot.

Before I try this Crun was does it do ?

Here's a useful one I discovered by accident: Try holding the Windows start key down while you press the arrow keys.

If you want to type fractions just type the first number e.g. 3 then leave a space then type 1/2 and press Enter, Voilà it should appear as a fraction. I doesn't work in this message box but it does in a Word document.

Like Grannyknot and NanKate I find shortcuts very comforting. The most common ones I use are "ctrl C" for copy or "ctrl X" for cut then "ctrl V" for paste.

I love keyboard shortcuts. So old school

The most useful one my daughter taught me is:

Highlight word, heading or sentence. Then CTRL + relevant square bracket (facing left or facing right), either enlarges or makes smaller. It even works for spaces between paragraphs.
