Cover the screen with white sticky-back plastic and hang it up in the kitchen with a wipeable pen attached, for notes?

The problem with hi-tech goods such as iPads is that once they stop working or get broken they are extremely expensive to fix meaning that it's often more cost effective to just replace it (with a guarantee) than pay for an expensive repair with none.

Also from experience, when my grandma died I was left with quite a few electrical items (lamps,microwave, digital radio, television etc) that were in excellent barely used condition but the charity shops will not take electrical goods.

According to The Hipster (Ladybird book) you can use it as a cheese board.

I have an Kobu book reader that is probably still working but I replaced it with a Kindle fire as it had a backlight so I can read in the night and not wake DH. Anyone know what I can do with it.

We down cycle all our technology.

All our grandchildren are now the proud owners of iPads , and I do mean proud. They treat them with respect and are only allowed limited time on them, which is lucky as all the other things like colouring, painting, Lego and dress up take time :-)

The same with old MP3 players, DS , and phones.

No point in keeping them 'in case' if you upgrade. Technology moves fast and if you're not careful you find you have a drawer full of obsolete gadgets.

Hi folks - CEX will pay cash for working ipads\mobile phones etc -look on their website for cash in price. Not a lot but better than nothing.
