I agree with Willow. The same happened to my laptop the other day and I couldn't move the arrow with touch or mouse. I turned it off and on again and all was well. Today I couldn't get a response to the Windows key and did the same to solve it. I am glad it worked for you.

Done it thanks yes did a complete shut down had to do it twice didn’t work first time but did second ( no external mouse) and it’s windows 10 but thanks for answering I knew o could rely on you all xx

Try turning it off completely by holding down the power button then turn it back on. Is it a mac or Windows OS?

Is your mouse actually working? mine was cordless but I forgot the batteries needed changing.

I ve just opened my laptop and can’t do anything as the arrow is not there in the centre I can see it right at the very top of the screen but it won’t move down Is this something I can do or is it a shop job please?
