Paying for TV channels

I have Freeview.

Netflix about £9.00 a month and my DS and two DGSs can access this too for no extra money

In reverse I share Amazon Prime which my DS provides

I also have Eurosport about £30 a year.

Finally TennisTV about £80.00 per year.

That’s it and it suits me well.

im with bluebell i have free sat, i do gripe about paying tv licence but till law changed suppose we have to, i dont buy into any other tv package, never interested me.

Blimey am I behind the tunes I just have plain and simple free view which is often crap but could I justify £63 a month noooo that sounds a huge amount

The Digitenna Max is a glorified aerial, it will only get you the channels that are available on Freeview, it will not show any of the Sky channels or sporting events.

Might be worth ditching Virgin and going to Sky , they have plenty of decent opening offers for new customers, I saved well over £20+ moving from Virgin to Sky for a similar package.

Other options are Freeview only and getting internet from a different provider, plus there are add ons such as Netflix, Prime, and Now TV - they all offer a month free trial but need an internet connection

Each channel in the cable TV package demands their own price with ESPN being one of the most expensive channels. They are paid per subscriber to the cable TV package. Pay TVs greatest nightmare is the time where an individual could subscribe independently to a station without a cable subscription. If cable TV allowed customers to pay individually for each channel, outside of a bundle, a lot of the channels could not survive on their own.

mrsmopp had a quick look at digitenna max on Google.
Could only find something called digitenna (No 'max') that appears to be an 'aerial' made for the American market and would not work in the U.K.

One of the things I have to consider when I compare services is can I get the services in our village and not all the top providers can.
I am with Talk Talk
My requirements are anytime phone and mobile, Fibre Optic broadband, these first of all before the add on for the TV packages.
Last time I checked with BT they were unable to provide Fibre Optic in our village and didn't have anytime mobiles in their packages.
I did a comparison and rang all the companies up to make sure and none could provide the two main services I require because of the area I live in.

I pay £23 per month with Utility Warehouse. Phone line and unlimited Internet, you can add on call plans but I use my mobile. Plug a Firestick into the TV and get loads of channels and watch catchup.

We have Sky for everything but don’t pay for the children’s channels, movies or sport. We also have Netflix and Amazon Prime which we couldn’t do without. But there are three of us in the house, sharing the cost.

I'm also with Virgin, for broadband and land line phone, and I agree with you that their charges have gone up several times. Whended my monthly fees went up to almost £36.00, I called them and told them that I was leaving them to find a better and cheaper provider. They immediately offered to "review the usage" and said that I was typically only using 20mgs of broadband, but paying for 80. They reduced my bill to £21.60 per month and I've never noticed the slightest difference in my broadband speed. My only regret is that I waited so long to do something about changing it and save some money.

I have Sky for every thing. I pay £63 p.m. total, for the Entertainment Package (used to be called Variety). This includes Line Rental, Fibre Optic Broadband, Anytime calls to Landlines and Mobiles. Virgin doesn't cover our area. I hear they are cheaper.
I dont know what a digitenna is....I must look into it.
