Subtitiles on BBCiPlayer

I use subtitles all the time, I never turn the application off (deafness). With ITV Hub there is no problem, but with the iPlayer I can never get subtitles and have tried everything (bar contacting the company). Any suggestions?

You have to click on the subtitles icon and then click on English, and you will get them. There doesn't seem to be an on/off to click.

I’ve just put iPlayer on and subtitles works.

If you put your program on iPlayer then and press pause at the bottom a menu appears move the pink square across to the S and subtitles will appear .

I watch it on my laptop so maybe it's different.

I’ve found that I can’t get subtitles on downloaded Iplayer programmes, either. sad

These two snapshots might help. Play the programme first and then look to the bottom right for the pink rectangle. Click on that.

It works on downloads too.

Thank you for your replies. I am not able to get any lower icons on the television but I can get the subtitles on the laptop. I'm ok with that!
