I read novels on Kindle, but prefer paper books for poems, recipes and reference books (eg dictionaries). Oh yes, Avalon. Knitting patterns too, so I can scribble on them, and circle the instructions for the size I am knitting.
I now 'think' on a keyboard as easily as on paper, so virtually never write a rough copy on paper and type it up, like I used to do. I do, however, love notebooks, and always carry a traveller's notebook with me (Paper Republic Grand Voyager Large, fact fans ), and jot things down as they occur to me when I'm not using the laptop.
Names of songs, quick recipe ideas, notes to self, reminders, present ideas, all of that (and more) would be a pain to write on a screen, although I do use the Notes app on my phone if I know that the note will be shared later. I like that it automatically synchs to my iPad and laptop.
So overall, I love technology, and am not remotely resistant to new ways of doing things, but I don't think that that means that paper is dead (or only fit for using as loo roll!). It doesn't have to be one or the other, does it?
