Screen faded and then just black. Can get nothing back. Have tried recommended method of taking out battery, pressing power button etc. Anyone experienced this? Thanks.
Have ordered new phone, but won't be able to transfer addresses etc.

Have you turned it off? Couldn't get mine to work, DS told me that it was a small computer and to do this it worked!

I've tried that MiniMoon. No joy. I will take it to Tesco when they are setting up the phone I have ordered.

Thanks grannysyb. I'm getting no response at all.

I guess there is no way out of it, unless tesco's can access it.
Luckily photos and videos are on an SD card. Just stored messages and addresses will be lost.

But thanks ladies.

When I got a new Samsung they transferred everything on it over to my new phone. Worth asking at the store.

I think it's called the black screen of doom for a reason.
I always have Samsung phones and its happened to a couple of mine.

Yep.. I went Samsung to Oppo last time as its an Android phone they could also transfer my info onto that one as well no problem.
Enjoy your new phone.

Remember to store your important numbers on your SIM card and back up into the cloud...for Samsung use Googledrive or similar.
Then if your phone dies all is not lost.

nadateturbe Wed 16-Feb-22 15:13:49

That's the problem Tanith. i f I can't access the phone they can't transfer anything.
MissAdventure were you able to fix it? The new phone I've ordered is another Samsung. I'm worried now. Perhaps I will change it..

MissAdventure Wed 16-Feb-22 15:16:50

I think I managed to get it on just for long enough to take some important stuff over to a new phone.
Then the man upstairs was able to do the rest using a computer and all kinds of leads.

tanith Wed 16-Feb-22 15:17:29

?‍♀️ Damn never thought of that lol.

MissAdventure Wed 16-Feb-22 15:17:33

I did lose some precious stuff, though.

nadateturbe Wed 16-Feb-22 15:17:34

Oh. I've just realised I think I have the contacts stored on the SIM. Thanks, Pittcity

I'm not with it today. confused

Perhaps worth a try? 5 different fixes.

nadateturbe Wed 16-Feb-22 20:15:25

Thanks MissAdventure. will try. But I might send this phone back. Will see what Tesco say.

My Samsung J3 did the same. I think they have built in obsolescence. Mine was nearly five years old. I've got a Samsung A12 now, which is fine, very similar to the J3 but bigger, which I find quite convenient. It also has 64 somethings of memory, which is much better than the J3 which had only 16. As others have said, Tesco will transfer everything to the new phone. They two young people in our Tesco phone shop are absolutely brilliant.

I might have a look at that one. It's a better price than the one I've ordered. And if it's similar, that suits me better. Thanks.
