Can't record BBC1 HD on my Humax video recorder

The changes with BBC HD are being rolled out in phases and is not due to be completed until the end of April. Your system may be yet to be updated.

If you put it in standby overnight, it should retune itself to take account of any changes. This happens at 3am. There is no longer an SD BBC1 only the BBC1 HD SE on 101. HD used to be on 106, but this is now showing as “moved” Certainly a retune should solve it if HD local is available in your area.

Asked DH and he says it is to do with local news on BBC and changing to HD as not all areas are. They are doing it area by area. Hasn't reached us yet (Midlothian) but supposedly you need to retune the humax box.

DH goes into the schedule option (we have a lot of programmes scheduled to record) and deletes those that have finished as he says it slows it down. I did read the same as NorthFace recently.

I have a Humax recorder, on which I record most of my viewing in order to fast forward the adverts or catch up if I have dozed off !
I find that any channel shown on the on-screen programme can say 'no programme information' from time to time. I find the way to get it to show the items is to tune in to view the channel for a few minutes, after which it has usually loaded the information. I just tried it on 101 and it worked. I am not bothered about HD and have to say I always choose the SD option.

I believe the BBC have recently made some changes to certain transmitters to make the local news on BBC One available on HD. Try retuning then go to Option (the + button bottom left) change group to HDTV and see if you can do a manual record on the red button. Does that work? I retuned mine a couple of days ago and it's recording the HD channel.
