With confusion, my mother soon couldn't use her simple mobile, landline or TV remote. In fact, we had to take it away as she kept calling the police. We did have a listening device hidden in her radio, though, just to monitor her safety in the care home.

Back then, there was no Alexa - still, I think she may have found one useful - especially with a reminder card of things to ask.

You can block calling the police on your doro, just go to your nearest tech shop/provider

I love my Doro it’s so easy to use and easy to read even without glasses

It’s also easy to make the words giant (which is what I have)

Another vote for Dora but pay the extra to get a keyboard as the cheapest might still have that laborious touching keys to get each letter for a simple text.

Thank you! Only just seen post notifications not working! We tried a doro a few years back but no joy! I tried to talk them into an echo dot but they convinced it would be listening to everything all the time so switched it off!!

I tried this phone for my rather confused dad. He was totally unable to manage it. I got him an Alexa dot which is linked to his care home Wi-Fi. All he has to do is ask it to call me and it comes through on my phone.
I ca do a “drop in” and hear what is going on in his room. Luckily I don’t have any concerns about his care but it could be a useful feature if you did.
I’m thinking of upgrading this to one with a screen so that I can video call him.
