Classic View of GMail

Whats a iPag? Is that some new android device?

Thank you everyone. Now I can try again and glad to know others had the same problem!

i have found that i cannot get back to the basic view which i prefer, if the newer one has already displayed.
that is why i have to be quick and know where i am aiming for at the foot of the page, while the big M is forming.
if i get the newer one, i open a new window and search again for gmail inbox, which is usually one of the suggested options, as i keep my gmail open.
i know this might sound silly to some, but i can only cope within my limits, which are quite limited.
and actually it seems simpler to me than looking for other lines, settings etc, with which i am not familiar.
i am always a bit worried if i click on something i don't understand, as to what effect it may have.

Do you see three horizontal lines top left by the multicoloured M logo? Click those lines to toggle the left hand menu between the collapsed format (icons only for Inbox, Sent, Drafts etc) or the wider format with icon plus folder name.

Do you see a cog wheel top right for Settings? That will give you lots of different options for how Gmail is displayed.

right, i didn't log in again, but opened a new window and searched, then clicked on my gmail inbox, which was one of the suggestions,
the big coloured M was forming, and at the foot of the page was something like
standard view,
next to that was
load basic HTML.
i clicked on the latter.
but have to be quick before it presents the standard view.
sorry if this doesn't make sense.

i don't know but i read my gmail on a chrome laptop.
sometimes, if i have to log in to it again, it presents the newer look, which i dislike.
but, if i am quick enough, i can click on something at the foot of the page, as the big M is forming, and it then takes me to the original format.
i'll try it now.
