Passwords and signing in problems

I want to begin paying Duolingo to avoid the endless adverts etc. Asked to sign in I'm shown an unfamiliar email address and asked for a password.
Now I'm given a choice to sign in a different way. Okay I click that and correctly remember my Google password.
To verify its me I now have to wait 6 hours before I can access my emails.

I think this happened before when I tried to pay online.
It's an absolute nightmare!

Any suggestions welcomed.

I don’t know, sorry. Often when I go to sign up for something, an example email is filled in in pale grey perhaps to remind me what I’m supposed to be adding in that box. My phone saves my sites and passwords
I’ve never come across the 6 hour wait though. How frustrating for you.
Hope others can be more helpful.

I never had either.
I know that Google etc are preventing fraud, for which I am happy, but why can't they do it behind the scenes and not in this cumbersome way!
They have already told me that I am who I say I am so why the 6 hour wait
