My cat often rubs around the lid of my laptop, so the same happened to mine once. I tried everything to no available, so I asked my granddaughter. Needless to say she rectified it straight away, by holding the cursor anywhere on the top edge of the screen and moving it cross. She did it so quickly I am not exactly sure what she did, but hope this helps. Good luck!

Most laptops have an hdmi output which you could plug into your TV and see if you can adjust the settings from there.

When you were in Settings/Display, did you try this?
Change the screen resolution, orientation, and scaling. Ensure that the resolution matches your monitor’s recommended setting.

Another issue could be out of date drivers.

aggie

I usually turn it off / unplug , and leave for a while before turning it back on ?

I've tried that but it hasn't worked.

My laptop screen has suddenly moved across to the right and I can't correct it because it's too far across for me to click on the "square" next to the minimise icon... .

I've googled but none of the suggestions have worked because they don't appear for me to click on.

I've looked at Settings/Display but there's nothing there to help with this particular problem.

Help!!
