We have widespread house with extensions so we don't kill ourselves getting to the phone. Does anyone know what happens in that case?

I have a very elderly Panasonic cordless phone - about 20 years old. I rarely use my landline but when I do, it works fine with BT Digital domestic VOIP.

The one we have at work has no search facility - you have to scan down (no up) until you find the right name. Very slow

We had to ditch our old phone - it wasn’t compatible. No problems with the replacement.

cant seem to get a straight answer to this. I am being pushed by BT business to change to VOIP and they say I HAVE to use the handset provided. This is horrible (I have one at my business premises) and I have three nice cordless phones that I don't want to throw away. On BT's community page there are mixed messages. Has anyone used their old phones with the new system?
