Split screen on my I pad

Try double clicking on the home button. You should then get a screen with small versions of the pages and apps you have open. Swipe all of them upwards individually so they disappear off the screen. Hopefully the split screen will disappear too.

Another way:

If you put your finger on the dividing line - between the split screens and drag either to the right or left (until the split disappears) it should return to a whole screen again.
You can turn off the split screen in settings (Home Screen & dock)

Thank you all. I have not got three dots on my iPad screen. I’ve tried everything and guess I’m stuck with it.

Yes, I’d missed that, but on my iPad it’s above the grey strip which says Gransnet (desktop version) - I should have thought most iPads are the same? (But what do I know! )

The OP says she has no three dots showing.

Reboot the Ipad by closing down and restarting from scratch.

That’s what I do.
Really simple

Go to the top left where there should be a small pic of the screen and press the ‘full screen’ option.

Have you tried putting a finger on the dividing line and pushing it to left or right?
